May I ask which advantages you expect from .dng picture format? Or are you talking about .png which is even worse?

Isn't .DNG just Adobe's proprietary version of .RAW??

.DNG is an Adobe creation but is not proprietary. As I understand it, they pushed to have it become the .RAW standard but no one went along with it.

It is a kind of raw format.
This will give you a little more headroom with editing.
Don't expect miracles with Spark's tiny sensor, but it is better than Jpeg.

That would be great, although you could also benefit a lot from a flat profile to be able to save more details in the low- and highlights.

DNG (i.e. raw) advantages are: a greater dynamic range - 12 or even 14 bits of accuracy gives you much more room to lighten dark parts of picture of recover details in highlights without artifacts (like posterization). Another advantage is that raw images are not sharpened, hence... they contain more details. Yes, I know it may sound surprising but this is true (actually mathematically provable). BTW, imho DJI's jpegs are far too oversharpened by default.

Exactly that Montfrooij says.Spark .jpg is ideal when taking photos daylight or with a descent amount of light...BUT in low light conditions such as cloudy weather .jpg with compress and low light can produce a lot noise.....If you take the shot with .dng in low-light and push it to light room without .jpg compression, you will have  a lot less noise,  a clearer picture with greater results.Plus you import it to LR and make little miracles....
