My first night flight back in September @Kwun Tong, Hong Kong.



it's really terrifying when once in a while when I look at my phone to check some settings, and when I look up back I can't find my drone.
will look for some strobe light devices to make sure I know where it is even in darkness.

Flying among tall buildings like that, I'd have expected you to lose contact with your quad.  Were you standing atop one of the tall buildings?

I was actually standing/walking here and there on ground, trying to keep a direct passage between my remote controller and the drone...

but still, I can't fly too far away, keeping it within 200 metres all the time

yes, i did experience HD transmission loss, and got some signal loss (last for 1 or 2 seconds usually) when I flied the MP around that area. but I also kept moving on the ground to try giving the RC & the MP a path with no clear obstructions to minimize that problem, and I flied it within 200 meters to avoid any problem too.

clearly don't want it to lose signal and automatically RTH in such environment.

I forgot my settings at that time, are there any ways / software I can use to check ?

Yes, Hong Kong got a lot of nice places to fly your drone, and of course the night view here is one of a kind & i am so in love with it

thanks! yes, Hong Kong is a very lively place with good food & excitement everywhere. And of course very scenery places to take photo or video as well! come visit some day!

Very good, what was your settings?

I always enjoy night photography, there are so many hues of light. We are not supposed to do night photography here in the States so I have never tried it. On the Strobe check out the CREE Strobe by Firehouse Technology. You can get them on Amazon. $29.00 US. Amazon carries them. They are the size of a Postage Stamp and that includes the rechargeable battery. They can be seen for 3 miles and are FAA Compliant. I use a Velcro Dot to attach them to the top of my Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2. I have them on whenever either on is in the air. They are extremely bright even during daylight. I would like to see DJI build one of these into the top of all their Drones. It would make them visible from above for manned Aircraft to see.

this is strictly speaking not encouraged, but i flied with great cautious and take much responsibility as a drone pilot during my flight.

HK didn't have a law regarding recreational UAV operation, currently there are guidelines and some broader sense rules such as not to fly near the airport, and not to fly near vehicles, buildings, crowds, maintaining VLOS etc.

yes I am thinking to install one of those as that makes me much more certain to fly during night as well as daylight sometimes.

Great product that increases safety. I use mine during the day and it is very notable.

amazing footage, make's me want to upgrade to the Mavic
