After replacing the ESC card the motor is spinning in the wrong direction?

Then you either hooked it up backwards or you purchased the wrong motor!

there is a CW (clockwise motor) and a CCW (counter clockwise motor)...
The tip of the motor should match the one 180 degrees opposite it...
ie. if the one you replaced has a black top and the one 180 degrees opposite has a silver top, you have the wrong motor..and vice versa...and you are backwards!!
If need be, please post a pict and we will get you running in the right direction!

yes, check the positions of the red and yellow wires.  if the red is in the middle of the yellow and black wires on the esc board, then the motor attached should be silver center (not black center).  if the yellow is in the middle of the red and black, the motor should be a black center motor.  if yours is backwards, it will tell the motor to spin the wrong way.

edit:  by black center or silver center i mean the dot (black) or lack of dot (silver) at the middle of the rotor post

here are photos of how the order should be on properly aligned motors:

notice red is in the middle on the silver tip motor adn yellow is in the middle on the black tip motor.  (middle of the esc board position i mean)

It is hard to tell but the two motors look the same.

Guy

One has black dot on shaft and other does not have black dot.  Opposite motors.

Black dot, the red wire soldered center,
silver no dot, the red wire soldered at back of ESC away from motor.

I will take your word for it. To me it looks like one has a hole in the shaft and the other does n ...

The hole is just an indented black dot.  The props also have either a silver center or a black center.  Color coded so even the root weevil would get it right and not try to force on the wrong prop with a hammer.

no, been too busy with a few other things, i think ill be doing the esc replacement this weekend.  the other three are 2.1s so even tho i ordered 4, i think im going to only replace the 1 bad one at the moment and keep the other 3.  there is some risk one of those could fail since ive had prop stalls a number of times but we'll see.  will post pics when im finished.

I have the vision plus V2 and have them on that one, not sure when they actually started.  I know on the arms, they have raised letters, CW or CCW by the motors, but hard to see.

The P2+ v3 Phantoms are a solid black top and a solid silver top and are the 2312 motors and are a bit more powerful, another way to tell is the windings, they are a lot cleaner on the 2312 motors.
The P2 v2 and below are the 2212 with the black dot and not a black dot as the differentiator as in gnix pictures.
If you have a P2 v2 you can put in the 2312's as long as you change the ESC's and as far as i know it is recommended to change all four if you are going to change motor models as the 2312's are more powerful...

My P2 V2 has the flat tops...2312's. My guess is the original P2 v1 had the RC with gimble lever on the back. Then with the P2 vision + they also came out with the P2 v2 with upgraded motors and RC.

Thanks for that. It brings up the question of ESC's on the P2V3. Which version should I have?

Guy ...

Try this, it may clear it up

and this for a bit more confusion....keep in mind, they are at ESC v2.1 in the v3's or at least some should be as some v3's are purported to have the ESC v2.0 or god knows what and it was a big problem for the first number of birds out of the DJI nest as they were reported to have a bit of a mix up at the factory or something...I am not sure which mine are though must be o.k. given the way i have flown this thing....

just to clarify, i have 2.1 ESCs that came stock in my bird.  my motors have the black indent (i suppose making them 2212s).  also for clarification, not only do i have the indent but i also have the CCW CW text on the arm AND a small picture of an arrow showing the direction of the rotation right beside the CCW/CW text.  so i have all three, not sure why they would leave only the text and take off the indent, it certainly helps to pick out direction easily.

Unfortunately the OP never came back with more information, or even what model he has.
But for reference to the "black dot" my V+ V2 has the indent on the motor shaft and the same markings on the shell as gnixon.
