Hey guys, this is my first post on a DJI Forum. I'm here because today I have my first Phantom 4. If there are any threads I should see about my drone or information I should know about, let me know. I'm glad now to be a P4 owner.

Here is a link to all the DJI tutorial videos.
I watched them all even before I had my P4P.  They helped me speed up the learning process of what you can do with this amazing machine.

Don`t update any firmware , ios or apps until you have flown for at least a week or so and only then if you really need too.

Do not charge the aircraft battery and remote battery at the same time. And, if you don't plan on flying for a few days or weeks... leave the batteries at 50-75% charged. Not fully charged...

I’m in the situation, I’ve just pulled the trigger on a P4P.  Is this your first Phantom.

I noticed on my profile it has my old P3 Standard and spark listed, but not the p4 I purchased. How do I have it registered to myself? I had bought this Phantom from somebody else who had owned for a bit of time.

It's already pretty great, much better than any other drone I've flown. However, I live in an area with very, very bad interference, but it still handles itself great. (I live about three miles from laguardia airport, its a dense area, and theres a radio island nearby)

Hello and welcome to the right place. Good to start flying always with fully charged batteries and if you change the place to fly always check fail-safe return to home altitude to be enough and over the most highest objects! Good luck, fly safe.

You won't be able to.

The icon only shows when the login account is the same as the drone's activated account, so if the drone was activated by another account before, the avatar will not show.

Can i ask why not to charge them at the same time?

Hello and sorry for the late reply. I have seen many posts about not charging them both at the same time. I think it has something to do with a possible surge that may happen when unplugging the flight battery. The balance device that's built into the RC battery pack is weak and prone to failure. Hope this helps and I hope you don't have to go through what I and many others have with the RC charging issues...

That's too bad for me. I updated my UA FW as soon as I got it all set-up. It seems to be working properly for now. Only took it on a short test flight, and not even above 20 feet or so.

Why not at the same time? Simply because they recharge slower?

I see. I'll keep that in mind in the future. After opening the box, I just got my P4 delivered on Friday, I automatically  updated the FW and charged the battery and RC, together, right away. Everything seems fine for now. I've only attempted a short 15 minutes of flight time though.

I'm in the same boat, so to speak. I'm a Spark owner, but just got my P4 delivered on this past Friday. I've found the DJI tutorial videos helpful, as well as some other Youtuber's posts as well.
