I'm using the latest DJI Go4 4.1.17 on iPhone.  Today I copied out the FlightRecords folder using iTunes, and found there is a new subfolder called MCDatFlightRecords.
Since Nov 1st, each flight has a new data file, named, as an example, as 2017-11-01_18-02-28_FLY122.DAT in this new folder.
I guess this file records extra info on a flight, whose regular record file is, for example, DJIFlightRecord_2017-11-01_[18-02-49].txt

I wonder what is stored in this file, and if this new file is only used by DJI Support, or we can upload it to some website to view it.

I think these flight records are from the DJI GO 4. Usually, we need the flight data in spark for analysis. And you need to use DJI assistant 2 to export them.

I know there are flight data on the AC that we have to use DJI Assistant to export.

But these new .DAT files appear to be introduced by a recent DJI Go4 app upgrade, as I don't see them for the flights prior to Nov 1st.

Yes...I see these on mine as well.  Mine started on 10/31.

What are these and is this documented anywhere?

They have some of the same data as the .DAT on the AC. The sampling rate is much lower. Also, the data can have gaps becasue of the reliance on a good down link from the AC to the RC. They can be viewed using eiher the DJI Assistant 2 Viewer or with CsvView/DatCon. http://www.datfile.net/CsvView/intro.html
