Pretty dissapointed DJI, went to fly my mavic the other day only to find it locked out and unable to launch due to a mandatory update. Meant I had to give up that days shoot and go home. This morning have been trying to update the mavic to your compulsory firmware v01.04.0000 for the last two hours and the update continually fails. I have tried it both via the RC (with phone app) and via DJI Assistant. Both fail. I used three different batteries fully charged. The error I get in DJI assistant is 0x020106


Pretty poor form to force a broken update on users, essentially grounding them until you can sort out your own mess.

I am having this same problem. Tried updating via RC and Assistant and have wasted 3 hours and still cant get my drone off the ground. I keep getting error 0x020106.

Could you tell us your DJI Account(the email address when you logged in DJI GO)? I'd like to help you get the beta and try again.

1.Log into your DJI account.
2.Upgrade the firmware V1.3.8.10 or V1.3.8.11. or V1.3.8.13
3.Once it's done, please press the "Record" button on RC and make sure it's recording, then start to upgrade firmware to the latest one, it will be working.

The beta only fix the the error code 0x020106/0x020103, I'll help you get the beta and try first, it should be available in a working day later. I encountered this when i first received my  Mavic, failed miserably on the app. So went to Dji Assistant app, same thing but the oldest trick in the book i disabled my Anti Virus program and  houston we have lift off - success. Used my Alienware laptop - Win 10 and disabled firewall . Hope you guys get sorted

Hi Any chance you can help me with this also.

I tried to update the firmware from 01.03.0400.

I have tried using DJI Go APP and the DJI Assistant. Both continually fail. I have tried manually. on the app and through cables, no cables, etc. (Pretty much everything!)

I am now in this position:

App 4.1.15 (I downgraded it from 4.1.18 on S7 to see if it would help, it didn't)
Aircraft 01.03.0400
Remote 01.04.0100
App DB 01.00.01.07
Basic Fly Safe DB 01.00.01.05

Please help me fix this issue! Thanks!

Good news. After weeks of unsuccessful tries I upgraded to latest 1.4.0100
Non firmware helped.
I asked my friend for old MacBook with USB port and after few tries of direct upgrade from 1.3.400 to 1.4.0100 with connected by USB cable and DJI Assistant 2 and connected and switched on RC with Android device on it, as well as clicking REC button when everything hangs - successfully upgraded.

Will check stability of flight later. But in Assistant and in DJI Go it shows 1.4.0100 everywhere.
Hope this lifehack help somebody.

I have the same issue as pretty much everyone else on the thread, my aircraft is on 1.03.0400 and my controller 1.4.0 and get an error 0x020106 error when updating.
I have tried contacting support by phone, online and email and no-one can help me.
