Hey all,

I plan on travelling to Oman from the UK and wanted to take my Spark with me.

Based on research it says there will be an application form available but I haven't been able to get hold of one and I even tried reaching out to the aviation ministry but got no response.

Has anyone had any experience taking their drone in especailly the Spark as it is pretty small?

Thanks!

I am a member in a Whatsup group for the gulf countries drone pilots, and there are some pilots from Oman. As I knew, it's not allowed, all of them are breaking the laws! Yet no one cares!

If they are nationals they may be able to run that risk. But for a foreigner it is certainly not advisable to do so if it is illegal in the country.

So it is definitely illegal to bring drones into the country but at the airport they allow them to enter? Or are you talking about Omani citizens living in the country?

Thanks

And let me guess, most of 'em are "from the gulf countris", not tourists. Right?

Actually I'm not sure about entering a drone is allowed or not, but they will not allow you to fly for sure.

In Oman and Saudi no tourists allowed, but not in Kuwait and Dubai, they can.

I would recommend you communicate with the local authority and know about the local rules. You can check more regulation through our website: https://www.dji.com/flysafe?site=brandsite&from=footer.

I don't think I would take that risk, not only could they confiscate your drone, but you could end up having bigger problems with that...
