Troubleshooting Gimbal Errors

When a gimbal error warning message pops up in the DJI GO or GO 4 app, it can really get your pulse going. Tilted horizon, gimbal motor overload, and abnormal gimbal vibrations are gimbal errors you might experience. For some pilots, especially newbies, the first reaction is usually to fix the gimbal by twisting it manually, DO NOT do this as it doesn’t work and can damage your gimbal.

So what’s the right thing to do? It’s very likely that you are just a few taps away from resolving your gimbal issue in the DJI GO apps. For instance, by performing an IMU and gimbal calibration in the DJI GO apps you can fix a tilted horizon. By inspecting your take-off site, you can check if the gimbal motor overload is caused by obstructions stopping the gimbal from rotating. If the gimbal vibrates abnormally, you definitely need to check if any anti-vibration parts such as the vibration absorbing board, dampers, and rubber balls are malfunctioning.

Furthermore, gimbal errors can be caused by environmental factors. For example, flying in heavy fog or clouds may make the gimbal wet, leading to temporary failure. The good news is that you don’t need to worry as the gimbal will recover full functionality once it dries.

After i change to 8331 propellers on "old" Mavic. It's cause gimbal abnormal. I'm in latest firmware. IMU, Gimbal calibrated but the problem didn't solve. I think the propellers is not balance. You can see many same case in below.

DJI said propellers not including warranty so i can't refund or exchange. Poor DJI services.

Finally YES.
I got a very good deal at a local store on a original MP fly more combo.
Even better than the DJI deal on the white fly more combo
Also bought a PP filterset (vivid + cinema) and some accessoires.
So in a couple of days I will give it a try

recently just a few minutes ago, as my MP was smoothly flying, the gimbal suddenly went crazy as if it automatically did a gimbal calibration mid flight. So I let go of the sticks, looked up, tried controlling it and I still can. First thought on my mind was I might've hit a bird when it happened but as soon as I saw the mavic still up there just staying still and responding to my control inputs that musn't be it. So I went and see in the footage what happened and saw that it went insane for a few seconds and back to normal as if nothing happened. Any ideas what might have been the cause of this? And a possible fix?

Since I updated to the new firmware I’ve got no image and it says transmission error and on the app it says gimbal disconnected. So angry as my drone was working perfect before the updated firmware. Been told it’s either a firmware clash or an incomplete update.

Flew with it again today, relieved it didn't happen. I do have some suspicions about an external factor/s though.

That looks like the gimbal control board and/or the camera itself.

Hallo I have same problems only since a few days after updating to GO4.0.100 Deutsch and Also very slow screen with pixle problems and disconnectings  in Note4. Before this update the Note works perfectly??? How can I downgrade?

I tried making Panorama pictures with my Mavic Pro but they all fail wit an "failed" error at the end. I think this has to do with the SD card I use is nog fast enough. Does somebody else has the same issues or does it work like a charm for you?

I’ve had gimbal issues with new quiet blades on original MP. It’s happened on 2 sets of blades? I fly the drone a little bit and the drone seems to “settle in” and the warning goes away.  So maybe I should check the gimbal buffers?
