i read that the new goggles RE use FHSS technology to maintain the best signal quality.
So DJI why doesn't the Spark use similar technology to get best continuous signal instead of sticking with one channel within one band until RTH is initiated.
This is worse for people in CE as Spark will always choose 5.8ghz as first choice frequency and that is the shortest range in CE mode.

Please note that spark support auto selection in wifi-setting now. Spark will identify the best channel before taking off and stick to it during flight. Please ensure that your firmware of spark is the latest one. It will be supported only if your version of app is above 4.1.14.

Elektra, i know there is auto selection but there are a few issues with this :-

1. It always selects 5.8ghz first and in CE region this only gives 300m range at best.
2. As you fly the channel which was best at take off may no longer be best during flight.

Auto would work better if at the very least you could select either 2.4ghz or 5.8ghz and it changed channels within the chosen band to choose the strongest signal.

FHSS would be a the better overall solution

Unfortunately the Spark uses a vanilla WiFi protocol that doesn’t support dynamic frequency hopping. WiFi can’t function like that as every time it changes frequency there would be a significant amount of time whereby the controller would not be linked to the aircraft while handshaking took place.
