Hello Everyone,

I am sorry if this question is posted somewhere before

I will be taking lots of X'Mas night videos using my OSMO Mibile this week
I tried enabling the built-in flash OSMO feature but the cel phone flash just did not
turn on at all.
Am I doing something wrong?
I read somewhere expert said set the resolution to 1080p 30fps is best for night video
although I have this setting configured in my OSMO but footage are still too dark.
Is there a way to add extra light source to OSMO or some kind of configurations I am not aware of.

Thanks for reading

Alan

It is compatible. You 'just' need the https://store.dji.com/product/os ... ?from=compatibility also.
Also consider getting Movie Pro (app) to get better control over shutterspeed (lower shutterspeeds than DJI Go app)

I got a question Montfrooij,

If I bought Movie Pro and install on my cel phone
Can I use it together with the OSMO Mobile?
I meant can Movie Pro dedect the OSMO and I take video from Movie Pro
instead of from the OSMO app.
thanks

It will film very well on the Osmo Mobile.
You only can't start / stop recording using the buttons on the Mobile (since it does not 'support' osmo mobile so far).
I also bought Filmic Pro with the cinematographer kit for flat profile shooting BUT that is 5x more expensive and does give you a more of noise when you shoot flat profile.
Also it uses more battery so I only use it when I need the flat profile.
Filmic Pro does support the Osmo Mobile but the only thing you get is start / stop via the buttons.

Both apps are still improving on their engine and user interface and both have their pro's and con's.
Most of the time I use Movie Pro because it uses less battery.

I just want to say Thank you to a number of OSMO mobile experts
I bought the Manfrotto Lumie ART LED Light and the mount
work out very well, I can video objects within 10 feet at night without issues.

You are correct that Filmic Pro is more expensive that some other apps. However, there is considerably more integration with the OSMO mobile than just the start/stop feature.

Of course, the pan/tilt controls on the OSMO still work as expected.

There are also different shooting modes that can be enabled in Filmic pro by using the OSMO. This allows the OSMO to control features such as exposure and focus. The user manual is available online and these features are explained there.

Yes, that is true.
But I, so far, did not use it.
FP is draining the battery way too fast.
Hope they fix that soon.

Changing recording resolution  will not make your footage lighter nor darker... try by changing ISO...

Just a few issues:

Does anyone experience the same problem before?

1. I notice a number of times the roll motor is super hot.
I am afraid it will burn out so I had to turn of the unit and let it cool down a bit

2. take a few attemps to reconnect to DJI app on iphone.
I am not sure this is a known issue or not, I got the latest firmware.
for example, I turn off either OSMO or my iphone (while it is still physically attached to the OSMO)
     wait 2 minutes
I power up my iphone first, then power up OSMO, launch DJI app
it fails to connect for a few times - device is not attached
and finally it will connect, sometimes take 5 minutes to get it working
     don't know why ????
this is embrassing because people are looking/waiting for me to take video.......

3. I am not sure I am allow to discuss other brand name here or not
I like to try a different stablizer product that has a dual handle
I still like the OSMO mobile but the issue is I can only video for 1 hour then my iphone runs out of battery
even it is fully charged up.
My solution now is to use 2 iphones
When the first iphone runs out of battery I quickly switch to another iphone
but once I stop and turn off the OSMO, problem #2 above occurs

thanks for sharing your ideas
