So. after a long period of not filming anything, i had a really good morning. Spent the next week editing it.

0:12 the dreaded Mavic horizon tilt! Out of interest did you have a strong wind warning at the same time? I'm trying to work out why mine does it (sooo many good shots wrecked by a tilting horizon)

Nicely done. I think your horizon could have been straightened in a couple of spots but I like what you have done overall.

I wasn't using an ND filter, I think if i had, the sun would've been even better visible. But i somewhat like the large sun!

And yeah. The horizon tilt is so annoying I try not to do any sideways shots, hoping it won't show, but sometimes i couldn't avoid it.
Then again, i could've maybe rotated the frames a bit.

I did not get any strong wind warnings at all, there wasn't even a sigh of wind where i was standing!

I must admit some rules are open for interpretation (industrial area's, continues buildings etc) and I don't think it will be the biggest issue here since you are not flying recklessly etc.
Still something to take into consideration. Stay away from 50km roads inside villages and >60roads ouside.

Now I only hope we will still be able to fly up to 120m in the future..
50m is not that high.

For example, you're not allowed to fly within city-limits, but you ARE allowed to fly over 30-km roads..

But yeah, i'm afraid they're gonna lower the limit to 50m, that doesn't scare me as much as your drone not being allowed more than 50m away from you in general..

As far as I understand you can fly within city limits, only not over buildings, groups of people, most roads etc.
But if you find a local park or something you should be fine. (not fined )

Again in Dutch.
If this becomes a law you can only fly 50m height and max 100m away from you.
Also you must keep 50m distance from a lot of objects..... (roads, buildings etc. etc.)
Not as bad as 50m from you, but it will be very hard to find good places to fly....
50m is a long distance to stay away from those objects.

beautiful imagery. Glad you didn't hit that tower! It's hard for me to stay with any video more than a couple of minutes especially if it's images of the same general area. This is not a jab at you but more at DJI, I've noticed the horizon dips downhill to the right in many shots. Not just this video but many others I've seen including my own. What's up with that?

Thank you! The tower was a tricky one.. When flying towards it, my drone suddenly lost connection and the image just got completely blurry. Luckily i managed to get it to go up and out of the signals the tower was emitting!

I know the feeling. It was difficult for me to edit the images and make it seem like it was filmed over a greater area, but it was all filmed in an area of 500 meters :')

And yes. The dreaded horizon tilt. A lot of drones are noticing that when rotating the drone, the camera tends to drift a bit, to recover the horizon. I'm going to try and recalibrate my sensors, see if i can get them just a bit better.

Great film material, and quick work with the cut. I still have stuff from March to do.

Good heavens, I would never get the seasons mixed up. Thats like giving sun cream as a Christmas present. Just let thing slip for about a year, going slowly with a video cut reduces stress and reduces the chance of cardiac arrest.

Sometimes I save my footage for some years and edit + publish only after something changed making the footage more attractive (soon I will release a video about a railway that has been rebuilt).

This is the first movie I made


The second I still have to edit.

Can’t say it turns me into a fanatic for Dutch trains, but the film is however wonderfully nostalgic, it took me back to my childhood days before the demise of steam engines. In a time long before the sunrise for DJI.

no filters and it was THIS cinematic?! what were your settings on? and overall nice film but the movements could be less-jerky...just an opinion

I think i was on +1, 0, 0..
I feel i still need find the proper settings what works best for me. But so far, this might be it!

And yeah, some of the movements i did where unfortunate and i should've been cut out, but the song was 5 minutes, so i had some time to fill!

Also, I usually cut my songs down so that my videos aren't too long. Like if I really want to use the song but I don't want the video to be the length of the song...I'll rearrange parts of the song to make it the length that I want...if you ever need something like that, let me know and I can happily work with you on it!
