help please

Not much info to go on so I'll do some guessing.

If you have a compass error that won't go away, go to your app settings and see what is showing for the compass data.
If it's showing zero for the compass, you know that your compass is disconnected and will never calibrate.
It could be the connection on the main board but is more likely that one of the fine wires close to the compass in the bottom of the landing gear is broken.

i get  a warning "aircraft is in attitude mode"
a set of 2 beeps
and
"magnetic field fly with cation
when i try to calibrate it says interference try agian

Please do an IMU calibration first, then calibrate the compass, see if it works. Besides, have you tried to calibrate the compass in different places?

Yes I tried at the crash site and then when I got home.. thank you  for your help

The IMU won't help with anything related to the compass.
If you have a persistent compass error and cannot calibrate the compass, you probably have a disconnected compass.
Check as I explained above to confirm.

IMU = Inertial Measurement Unit.

It is an electronic unit that sense movement by use of Accelerometers, gyros and often with magnetometers as well.

The vehicle carrying the IMU will experience acceleration and deceleration when displaced from a static position. Each of the items in the IMU detect it and then commands are issued by Flight Controller to stabilise the vehicle or carry out instructions.

The Compass in fact does have a hand in the IMU here - because the IMU not only detects movement but allied with the compass will determine DIRECTION of the movement and confirm accelerometers information.

That is why when you look in the menu section  at IMU calibration page - the bottom line is Compass values.  

This is why I take DJI's instruction for calibration one step further to avoid any question of interference :

I do IMU and Compass Calibration in a clear area away from magnetic influences. Some may argue with this - that's their decision. I do first IMU - making sure that I have checked the ground for level and stable for AC to stand on. Complete the IMU and then do the Compass. Because of the interaction of IMU with Compass ... if I ever recalibrate IMU - I always do Compass next - just to be sure.

But as often stated in many posts and forums - it is not necessary to do Compass Calibration  each flight or when you fly in similar area ... once calibrated - unless you travel significant distance from that location - that calibration is good and does not need change.

If the compass is detached  completely, you will get a critical error on lights and the AC will not turn on.

the only damage4 was to the props that i can see

You may look twice,what all have been damaged,that leg too. The compass is assembled there,and have a look on the white cable.

YOU ARE CORRECT!!  I TOOK  THE BIRD APART AND THE COMPASS WIRE WAS DISCONECTED

I had this problem once after a crash. Evidently the connector on the board can't take much of a lick, without coming off.

Good to hear about the bug fix on your bird,wish you many many happy flights and much footage of clips and pics.
