Hey guys,

Recently I changed to a note 8 and I noticed due to the longer screen the preview is getting cropped and really annoying when framing shots. Also, tapping on the buttons at the left( to land, shooting modes, etc) will bring up the home buttons. Does anyone know how to force the app back into cropped mode?

Hi KW, could you please post some screenshots or a short video about it for better assistance?

Hi, the issue is pretty much like this. The top and bottom of the screen are cropped out in order to fill the longer aspect ratio of these devices. Besides not able to frame the video correctly the on-screen home buttons also interfere with the buttons on the left side of the dji go app. When will it be fixed ? All that has to be done disable the fullscreen optimization. And its not only samsung phones that are affected. Huawei, LG and pretty much any other phone company are doing the same thing.

Go into settings on the S8  > Display > Screen Resolution > select FHD+

Its already on full HD+. Theres no option in the displays to allow  you to crop back to the normal aspect ratio...

In your post, you say the preview is getting cropped and other issues yet in the video you don't point any of that out or show what is exactly the problem? You simply say that it's a Note 8 and the display is perfect....??

I know that the S8+ setting I gave you works for me.  Have your friend try it.

Seems like everyone here has misunderstood me. So heres two side by side screenshots. Taken with a note 5(on the normal aspect ratio) and the note 8(with the wider aspect ratio).

Imgur Link

On the note 5/normal aspect ratio you can see part of the F in the Oxford Dictionary.

On the note 8/widescreen aspect ratio half of the O is chopped off.

I know you can change screen resolution but that does nothing to the crop at all.
