One of the finest montages I've even seen. That you took your time to develop this medium length film is to be commended. I did not think it was too long, although a balked at the beginning(I always check length before I start). The fact that the majority of the clips are time lapse, makes the film go by fast, and thus, keeps your attention. The reversed deconstruction of the ferris wheel, though fragmented, was compelling. The return to the pier, on a regular basis, kept the film from being disassociated, even though you know it is a montage. Even the choice of an up-tempo musical interlude for the parade was a fine touch, displaying intelligent forethought in your compositional design. This is good work. I appreciate your efforts. Maybe one day I'll visit Brighton Pier.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time for this detailed analysis.
This was not a pre-planned project, but rather an homage to a lovely town where I spent over a year , but was suddenly forced to leave (I had to come back to London for work reasons).
So I collected some 4k footage I had made and put it together.
If I had a plan for a movie like this with a story board and shooting footage on purpose, it would have certainly had a much solid structure.
But I sill often watch it form time to time and enjoy it :-)
Do go to Brighton to spend a week end. You will have a great time!

One point - you came close to the 150m limit in the built-up areas, with the drone a few times.  Careful how close you get to buildings and people in the UK  (Drone-code), more so with the negative press attention we as fliers are getting.

Otherwise - good video.  I really like the night shots of the Ferris Wheel.

All the footage in this movie was shot more than 8 months ago.
At the time there was no mention of the 150m GUIDELINE (not rule) in built up areas.
I respected all other guidelines: no more than 100 m in height, no more than 250m in distance, 50m from buildings, no fly over roads or people.
I have not flown the bird since this 150m guideline came out

Actually I would like to know more about this 150m in built up area guideline.
I have not flown my bird for several months and I would like to shoot some footage again.
I moved back to London (after a year in Brighton) and I am a very urban animal, so this 150m thing really hurts me.
If you could give me info about it it would help a lot

It has all the rules on there.  The 150m is horizontal.

Check out the NATS drone assist app as well on the same site.  Gives you some helpful info on hazards by using the GPS and everything.

Most of London is out of play.  It's only a certain few commercial guys with the permission to fly that are allowed

Agreed.  I'd really like to fly around some parts of Belfast, Titanic Quarter with the Samson and Goliath (Harland and Wolff cranes) being one - but the City Airport is nearby, so that is a complete no go.

Great film, especially as its only an hour from home, so been their a few times

A mix of everything really.  150m rule, airports and when you can get passed that and find an area most of the parks have banned flying
