Run off from a river dumps in to the ocean . It awesome how the two waters do not mix .

cool video.  They do mix, but the fresh river water is less dense than the salt water so essentially the river water is basically floating on top of the sea water.  The flow has displaced the salt water in front of the mouth of the river, which makes it look like they are still separate.  you'll see similar creases in the flow in/out of inlets when the tides are moving as well.

we have this here in Barcelona, about 6 runoffs from the garraf mountains, its amazing seeing it from the top of the mountains, all the earth trying to mix with the sea water, takes days to dissipate from the dry river beds, this is why you dont walk in them as if it rains a deluge of water can come down the mountain in a matter of minutes along with debris and wash you away!
