Hello,

I've recently bought a second-hand P3S (my first drone) but i'm having a few issues with it and can't find an answer that works

1) The app doesn't connect to the drone, it gives me the option to enter camera view but just shows N/A over everything on the main screen and no camera.
I found the gimbal menu so i clicked the recentre button which did work so i assume there is some link between the app and drone

2) On some start ups none of the lights under the arms turn on except for the link button which is red, the camera spins around for a few seconds and then there is a loud beeping sound every second.
If i turn the drone off and wait 10 minutes when i next start it up it works normally but if its turned off and bcak on again within a few minutes this happens again

Does anyone know of any fixes?

What start up sequence did you make ?  If the start up sequence not in order of the system then you will not get a link between the copter system and your phone.
Power up the remote first and then the copter. Look to the status light on the RC. This must turn from red to green. Then start the mobile and choose the Phantoms WIFI and start then the app.
The app should recognize the Phantom and P3S.
I hope that helps you to start this bird.

I tried RC first then Drone and in the opposite order just incase i got it wrong.
The light on the RC stays red even though i can start the drone and fly it (just without the app).
The wi-fi network appears as expected, i connect to it, open the app and click the enter camera view button but still shows doesn't show up correctly

He did crash it in to a field when trying to land but it was still working after that
The only things that were damaged were a prop and prop guard

unplug, then re-plug the connection from gimbal to camera.  Its a pin connection with several gray wires.  Easy to do with a butter knife or your finger.

Tried that initially along with the two antenna cables but tried it again to make sure and no luck

There must be some connection between the app and drone because when i press the recentre gimbal button in settings it causes the camera to move

All cables look fine
I've reseated all the wires going to the camera including the black ribbon

Toggle the S2 switch at least 3 times , then beeping will start.  Then press the small button under the AC.

that app scren looks like Go4 which doesnt work with P3standard.
You need the Go app for before p4. Hopefully thats the problem. I referring to android though. Be sure you have the go app for ios for uav before the p4. Should be labeled something like that.

I have a P4P so take everything with a grain of salt....


Not sure on the P3S, but it might involve DJI assistant 2 on your PC. You might need to plug the Drone and or Remote into the PC while running DJI assist 2, then it displays available updates.
I believe there is an option to reset to factory condition there too.

I'm no expert though, probably needs a bit of research and / or help from someone more knowledgeable.

After a bit of research it looks like Dji Assistant is for all other models besides the Standard
The only way to update is through the app but since i can't connect the app to the RC/AC i can't do this

Is there any other way of installing new firmware?
Some suggest putting it on the SD card and others say this should never be done

I'm going to try return it to the seller as it was supposed to be fully working and there was no mention of a crash.

Try starting it in MIDI mode when prompted  , it worked for me., I had same problem using Huawei Y7

I’m new to the forum and didn’t mean to leave you with just I had a similar issue. When I hit return on the keyboard it posted and while trying to edit I got a response it took to long.
As I was stating….
I had a similar issue when I got my P3P.
Out of the box the remote would connect to the aircraft but I could not get the remote to connect to the app.
To fix this I realized I had no internet connectivity to the device I was using the app on. Once I had internet connectivity I got the prompt to update which I did.
After the update I had connectivity from the remote to the app and could see the camera feed as well as the battery status and other features but had a signal loss status in the app to the aircraft.
I downloaded the latest update to the SD card that goes in the Gimble and updated according the instructions for my aircraft.
This fixed my issues and I’ve been flying since. I hope this helps.
