I think for now it's overly worth it. Lets the Pro Mavic Platinum for example its cost $1.100 new.
The plan costs $129.00; for that first year you can total it twice. The first time it will cost $89.00 for a brand new replacement.
The second time cost $139.00, So a real bad pilot would get an extra two Mavic Pro Platinum's;  for 357.00 dollars.

If you buy a refurbished Drone and insure it, you can only receive another refurbished drone

The only problem is it doesn't cover un-recovered fly aways, which is what a lot of people are getting.

Third party insurance will cover fly aways,theft,crashes,water damage, and basically anything else including theft. I pay $60.00 a year to State Farm  and they cover my Spark And my Phantom 4.

It is 'just' an insurance.
If you are a person who likes to get extra insurance on their new toys: yes it is worth the money.
I only once bought extra insurance (my first videocamera, I got carried away by the salesperson's talk), after that I figured I am only going to buy insurance on things I really need.
Save the money for something else to buy.

The warranty is all I need.
But it could be fun to have for some foolish flying.

I have had two Mavics and taken care refresh out for both. I made one return which was a fairly minor issue. The Mavic was turned around within a week thanks to priority with care refresh. They surprisingly sent me a brand new Mavic, not a refurb. They did not even take one of my care refresh claims off it. That one has now expired. My new one has it. I tend to fly carefully, so may never use it. It is nice to know it is there for a quick turn around and two claims if the unwanted happens.

Hi Mullheliflier I am similar to you I fly carefully as well and did not think I would use it but I am glad I did and as per the video the service was ace
