Please, before you say... "Should’ve sent it to DJI Holland"
Time wasn’t on my side for that, I needed to know where it was, and who was going to be working on it.
I initially broke the receiver wire trying to fix the landing gear hatch back after a fall from my bench. After reading a comment on here that it should be ok to fly, I took it on a test flight. Everything appeared to be working perfectly, all controls, all of the camera and the gimbal movements. After taking my kit to the the repairers in person (40 mile drive) They sent a quote over. They tried to charge me for a new battery on the quote saying that it was damaged, they thought it was the battery in the drone after the fall but it wasn’t. I told them this and after a short pause, they said that it was too loose in the battery tray. I had my suspicions then, I told them that I have the battery that was in the drone here with me, I have two batteries, please explain yourself??
I agreed to a new bottom shell and new landing gear. Total repair bill; £198 After a week they sent an email stating that the camera gimbal was juddering on the horizontal and it would need a new one. I told them that it was fine when I did a test flight, the footage that I captured appeared to be fine too. Anyway, After some thought, I told them to replace it for a new one at a cost of £345. They gave me 3 options, no action at no cost, fit a 2nd hand gimbal at £240 or the latter at £345.I really didn’t know what to do? Kick up a fuss and accuse them of ripping me off. The kit is with them, I wanted it back ASAP. I really don’t know why I agreed to the new gimbal, I guess I JUST WANTED MY P4 back in perfect condition. As I say, I took the drone to them in person, in the original packaging it was delivered in at new, the case in the box and in a box. I made it very clear that I wanted all of the damaged parts back and if I decided to have it sent back by currier, to make sure that it was sent in all of the original packaging. It came back in a strange box and without the two original boxes and without the old landing gear and lower shell. Terrible service I thought. I won’t name them at this point as I need you guys to tell me if the so call damaged gimbal can be checked to see if oil the original part and find out if it is indeed damaged, also if it is repairable if it turns out to be damaged. ................................... Update 14th Feb 2018 ...................................
The camera was sent to Hungary and installed succesfully and no problems were reported.
