Is it possible to connect the Spark to DJI Assistant 2 to update firmware, or can this only be done through the DJI Go app? I have attempted to connect the Spark to a desktop computer that has DJI assistant 2 on it and it will not connect for me.

Yes it can and is actually the most comfortable way to check and update the Spark firmware. It only doesn't work for the RC yet. Was your Spark switched on when you tried it? And on which operationg system is the PC?
