Very interesting and beautiful photo, stunning height. I've never been drone at such a height.

I live in a valley surrounded my high mountains. So I drove up to a place that is more than 750m above my valley and flew to max height giving the drone over 1200m to where my village is.

I did not hack my drone just used the advantage of flying from a place with greater altitude at launch.

Here's the golden hour sunset. Best times are often sunrise and sunsets.

Ingenious. How high is the photo taken?

I think here in the UK we cannot fly like this, we have to imaging there is an invisible string thats 120m (400ft ish) long and it must always touch the ground, so we cannot take off from Ben Nevis (1500m ish i think) and fly away from the Ben because the ground obviously drops away and thus gives us a higher than the  120m height, not allowed, well, this is according to the Drone Police on an fb group, most admins are licensed and like to drum home the rules and regs of the ANO, a whole other argument, dont get me started lol

Nice shots btw

The mountains where I live peak at just under 4000m

In many areas you can hike mountains and your home point is already above 3000m - 3500m.

You can google search Drone photos at Mt Everest. This is a you tube from another person flying over Taiwans top peaks at over 4000m.

Then I'll buy a new one and get even higher. I'm just joking, of course, you have to comply with the country's regulations. I like to shoot from above, but I think the sender of the question (Koviand), although I do not know him personally. I apologize if you do not think so.

Up to 500M/1,640' above the home point from where the drone took off so if you take off from the top of a mountain you need to add the altitude of the mountain to the 500M if flying away from the mountain - this is how some people fly in the clouds at 50' AGL... The legal altitude limit is 400' above the ground that the drone is flying over in most countries and is the default altitude set by DJI (well, 120m is which is actually 393.7 feet).

I do not understand. How they fly 12467 Feet high?

They would have either taken off from 12,000 feet above the ground then flew away from that position and the ground drops 12,000 as they fly horizontally - an example of this is if you took off from say the top of the Empire State Building your altitude above the ground on take off would be measured against the home point on top of the building - as you flew away from the ESB the drone would still evaluate it's height against the home point so if you went 50' up it would be 50' above the ESB but as you flew away it will still be 50' above the ESB plus the height of ESB above the roads below. So it will still show 50' when in reality it will be thousands of feet. Same principle when flying from hills and mountains. Alternatively, the person would have hacked the software somehow in the drone and passed the 500M max altitude set by DJI - not recommended!

OMG - some people! Firstly, there is a fisheye effect in the image and the recording screen is not DJI so this is not a P4... Looks like a P2 with a GO Pro to me that has been seriously hacked. I doubt this is fraud/deception as the detail is too realistic for a sim. This is highly illegal.

You are familiar with the topic, but I think Phantom 4 can fly 12467 feet high.  Other videos confirm this, and the laws differ from country to country. I think the physical limit is just the buoyancy.

The physical limit of the Phantom series is 6,000M/19,685ft above sea level, outside the polar areas. This drone is not a Phantom 4 - it has been titled as such at the time as click bait. I can also assure you that flying a UAV TWO MILES ABOVE THE GROUND is totally illegal anywhere in Europe - where this video was taken.

It's called 'click bait'. If I posted a video now titled the 'Mavic 2 first flight a mile up' I'd get millions of views but if I title it 'my first flight with a Phantom 3' hardly anyone would bother watching.

Thanks for the sensible and professionally professional answers.
I guess there are drones that can fly higher, because of my profession, my job would be more interested in this issue.

Yes there are - the Global Hawk (a military drone) can achieve fully autonomous flight at altitudes of 60,000 feet AGL. Though taking a video of a sun set is probably the last thing it was designed for!
