Hey guys just wondered what you guys were using to edit your drone footage.  Would appreciate input from professionals and hobbyists alike.

I use iMovie.  It's great, but you will probably need to go to an Apple store and take a free class on using it.  Once you get that instruction, things get pretty good.  I also downloaded a VERY VERY powerful movie editor called DaVinci Resolve 14.  There's both a free and a paid version, but many posters wrote that the free version has almost everything that the paid version contains.  It's a very very large program with tons of commands.  I'm told it's used all the way up to professional movie makers.  And, there are tons of tutorials for it on YouTube.  However, after working at it for probably 20 hours, I decided that iMovie can handle just about everything I want to do, so I abandoned the more complex Resolve and went back to iMovie.

I use pro show 7 great program it’s not cheap. I also like iMovie

if you have an iPad, luma fusion is amazing and can edit 4k no problem.

FCPX 10,3 when using iMac , and Luma Fusion when using Ipad .
Edit 4K clips on Ipad pro with luma is ultra quick and easy !!! I didn't believe until i use it.

What platform are you going to be editing on?

For Windows I can suggest Davinci Resolve...

I once downloaded that free DavinciResolve to try it out but it kept crashing. Decided to delete the upload. Instead, I downloaded the free 30 day trial version of the FCPX, bought it and never looked back. One of the best editing SW on there.
Best of all, user friendly !

Seems like Davinci Resolve has a lot of fans. I may have to look into that too...

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum v14. for Windows.  About $80 USD. Does everything i need (hobbyist) and then some. Very comprehensive interface. Get results in no time...
I have Premier Pro with the CS6 suite, but i find it has a typically (for Adobe products) high learning curve...

I get the full Adobe Creative Suite through work so I use Premiere.

sony vegas was easy and good for me for many years. Recently switched to Premiere which is excellent but i think its too expensive for a light user like me

I use Vegas Pro 13.0 for all : action cam, drone, timelaps from camera.

I use Vegas pro, amazing piece of software. Very easy to use.
