I tried starting my Phantom 3 after 4 months of sitting idle. I rechaged the battery in both the controller and Phantom. When I try to start the Phantom, I hold the power button in until the red light starts blinking. However, when the blinking stops it just shuts off instead of powering the drone. Any help would be much appreciated.

That is not the correct way to start the aircraft. Press the power button on the battery once very briefly, release it and press it again and wait until the green lights all come on, and it should start.

I can only sympathise with those who won't RTFM if blind... ;-)

That "double click and hold for three seconds", has been the norm for as long as I've been around here, a couple or three years already...
It surprises me how often this particular conundrum baffles people. It should be an automatic, muscle memory practice.
