i know you wouldn't be able to see much, but I've been thinking about taking my phantom up at night to get a video of the city lights at night.. I'm not talking about going on a full blown flight, just taking it straight up and taking a 360 and then bring it down..i flown once before at night but didn't take video, the lights look really cool at night though! Anyone else ever flown at night??

I have lots of times. It's pretty cool if you take up to around 300 ft and point it down town. Just be careful because it's harder to see obstacles.

I like flying at night I have lights for my Phantom that allow me to see things before I might hit it.

I've taken mine up in a lightning storm.   Taped over front LEDs and hovered.   Some but not really any good footage.

2900 ft  ???? doesnt that contravene flying rules, I did 2700ft once and got absolutely slated by the PPF crew

I have found that the wind calms down nicely in the 8-11 pm range here and fly a lot in those times.

the lights make it very easy to keep track of orientation etc.

have a video of an interchange area on I80  has really nice clear shots of it at night.

much darker

this is from p2v1 with a CGO-1 camera just kinda hanging under it , no gimbal etc.

long boring but it does do better at night than the plus
