cannot get spark loaded in assistant
tried many sequences
any help appriciated

Hi, sir. Please try to change a PC for further check. Can you charge your spark through charger? I would recommend you change a cable and ensure that you download the latest version of DJI Assistant 2.

Have you turned the Spark on when it's connected via USB

yes have tried the start up sequence several ways and times.
Do not have another machine to install on.
It seems to be a driver for the usb
do we know what driver that needs to be installed
running windows 8 on a 64 bit machine

This problem seems to happen sometimes with Windows 8 and 10. For me as well it did not work in the first run. Re-install the DJI Assistant and watch out for a message requesting you to accept drivers from unknown sources. For me it is working well since.

From what I can see it's just the normal usb driver.

It could be the issue with the driver signature enforcement in windows 8

See the second half of this PDF to turn it off for the 64 bit version

I am having the same problem. Every time I start Assist 2 it defaults to an Inspire 2. When I installed the Assist 2 I also installed the extra drivers it presented. I removed the software and reinstalled it. This time it didn't ask to install the additional drivers. I guess I have to fish around and find the drivers and get them off the computer.
I started Assist again with the same issue. I does not recognize the Spark. It is looking for a Inspire 2...
What do I do now?

The same issue I even tried to connect my spark to pc running windows 7 but usb not recognizing help pls
