What do I send in? its all smashed to bits and will need to be replaced. Do I need to send in controller and battery as well. why would I keep controller If they are going to replace?

Keep the controller -- which presumably is fine -- and just send the aircraft. Yes, you should send the battery involved in the crash as it might have been damaged and should also be replaced.
