I am seeing some big discount from local DJI dealers offering 3510H + esc board (67% discount). So I am interested to do the upgrade. Has anyone done the upgrade? Could anyone share the experience of such upgrade?

The last time that I checked this out, it was cheaper and easier (probably safer too) to sell the V1 and use the money on the V2.
If you do go down this route, please keep us posted.

Isn't the only difference between V1 and V2 the motors+ESC? And possible the vibration board from X3 to X5? To me spending the $100-200 would be cheaper and easier than to try and sell your V1 in hopes of finding a good condition V2

If that is all it costs now, yes deffo worth doing a DIY. When I last looked it was costing over £100 sterling per corner, if memory serves me correctly, it worked out between £500 - £600.
Do you have any links to these prices?

No I would DIY. I've sold two Inspire1 kits and it took a long time to finally find a buyer and even then was lower than my initial asking price.

I've been looking for these great prices on V2 motors/ESC's but I'm not seeing anything near $100 -$200. Do you have any links?

Just got my motor and esc packages. Funny that DJI call the motors for M1,M3 or for M2, M4 props. Hey I am a simple man, why don't DJI call a spate a spate. It is pretty intuitive to say CCW or CW. Why do they change that. Now the packing only has motors for M1, M3. How do I know where to put it? Or does it matter as long as they are in put in diagonal position?

So according to RiseAbove, the price of 3510H & ESC is now for A$100 each. Note that RRP was A$299 and was before reduced to A$259. These parts are at exorbitant prices, it makes me dizzy.

just match up the center screw black on black corners, and silver to silver. when they state M1, M3 or M2, M4 they mean that motor works for either location. not sure which is which but remove a silver center motor and replace with a new silver center

Thanks for the suggestion. I have checked the new 3510H shaft, it does not have a black or silver tip any more. However, the colour of the shaft is slightly darker. Just work out a better way, which is to screw the prop onto the new motor. Only correct tip prop can screw onto the corresponding motors. In this way, it will tell for sure which motor for which corner.

the darker color is the "black" but yea if you have the self tighten screw props thats a sure way to tell the correct motor for each corner

The upgrade has successfully completed. The whole process has taken about 3 hours. There are as usual, some tricky situations which needed to be dealt with. eg. some very short antenna wire which restrict the movement of ESC board being removed. Anyhow, it is a relatively easy process that most people can DIY. Can't wait for tomorrow's test flight.
