I am new to Drones, I am new to DJI, and I am old so please have patience with me if I should already know things.  I just came home with a 128 Gig SanDisk Extreme Plus microSD card for my P4P.  This may be a "bridge too far".  It was on sale but before I open it, will it work or will the onboard system just spiral off during formatting?

Any advice, observation, or comments will be appreciated.

The 128g card will work ok, personally I prefer smaller 32g cards and swap them out as I change batteries. I never like to put all my eggs in one basket.

How long can you run 4K at 60FPS on a 32G card?

Based on your feedback, I think I will take the 128G back and trade it for a couple of 64G's.  They are on sale too.  Only the 64g and the 128g are on sale.  I agree with the eggs in one basket concept.  I shoot a lot of 35mm photos.  This is my first foray into video.  I have no idea of how much storage is needed and how much video gets "left on the floor" after editing.

Thanks to all who responded so far.

If I remember correctly it's about 250-300MB per minute of recording in 4K (2160p @ 30 FPS .MP4 - .MOV is a little larger) give or take a little, the higher the FPS the more space required. The IPhone records 2160p / 30 FPS at 10.5GB for around 30 minutes of recording a .MOV File

If you value your work, you don't send it back out again with your Phantom.
Using large cards that can store multiple flights isn't a good practice.
Using multiple small cards and swapping after each flight makes more sense.

Please refer to the specs of the Phantom 4 Pro below, and we suggest using SD card with Class 10/UHS-1 and above and writing speed with 60Mbps. Please kindly choose original SD card from the SD card company, which can ensure the full test of its stability and compatibility. SD card.png

I use .75 GB/min
Typical Flight is about 20 minutes +/- 5min
= ~15 GB/flight
Meaning you can possibly squeeze two flights worth of 4K vid on a 32 gig card
