Hello I am wondering what you suggest for the best otg cable to with with my DJI Spark.

You can search on Amazon, almost any will work - but you have to have the proper djo go4 app

For Android 4.1.15 or earlier and iOS 4.1.18 or earlier - last couple of releases are giving errors - no tele, weak image transmission

But here are the cables that work for me

For starters its not an OTG cable.  Besides shipping would cost your more than the cable

The connection between the Spark RC and the mobile device via OTG cable has not been fully tested, so I sorry to tell I have no recommendation and would suggest that you use it with caution if you choose to use.

I have been using it and works fine for me. Mind you, I'm a new flier, is it ok to use one? I find I get better reception with the cable than with just the wifi... Aloha

Just out of curiosity, can I ask how the OTG cable has not been tested? Pilots have been using the OTG since the Spark came out close to a year ago. OTG stopped working on the DJI app about 6 months ago. I've yet to read a post that states that using the OTG cable is somehow detrimental to using the Spark therefore . . . .

How has it not been tested? What else have your engineers been doing? I've noticed a number of moderators saying they'll pass feedback on the OTG to your engineers, have the messages not gone through? Do they even care?

I agree with the above question though, why are DJI so off about people using the OTG cable - it clearly works fine and has been for quite some time.

@DJI - Can you give us some hard evidence why we shouldn't be doing it? If its just because it hasn't been tested, can I suggest you do some? :-)

Hi mate, OTG cable has not passed the full test when connecting the mobile device and Spark RC. If there are any changes regarding this, we will let you know. Appreciate your understanding.

Hi Spruce, as we can see that there are a group of users prefer using the OTG cable, we as moderators care much about this and even each time we asked the engineers and looked forward to the positive answer. However, until now, we recommend Spark users use WiFi for connecting.

I received the Spark 2 days ago and I immediately realize that without OTG cable is a useless drone, video delay and blockiness video is what you get in WiFi even in really shot range.
DJI this is frustrating.
I also realize that DJI doesn't officially support OTG for Spark to connect the remote but it's ok for DJI to use OTG for Goggles and CS Monitor, this is also crazy.
Spark in WiFi with no OTG is to me a useless and unsafe drone.
Very disappointed by DJI my next drone will not be for sure a DJI product.

Thanks.  I can see why this is the case now.  The Mavic connector is closer with it's side mount than the bottom mounted port on the Spark controller.  Thanks for the info!

If you ever tried flying a Spark in Europe, you would know why most pilots in Europe prefere to use a OTG cable instead of wifi.
It is not impossiple to fly without OTG on IOS, but it improves the flying experince a lot and the range

I'm a new Spark owner, playing with it in Romania. I'd like that this feature to be re enable, so no one to be force to use older version of software .

However, we still suggested WiFi connection. And iOS device can't be connected via the lightning cable. Appreciate your understanding and your support.

OTG is always better, at least on Android devices. I can't tell for iOS devices.
More range, and, more important, way less video lag!

Get one of these cables and enjoy flying your Spark!

Since now its officially supported by DJI (considering last firmware) what cable can I use?. Anyone from Mexico here?

I prefer a single one:


not the micro USB - USB that then I've to add the USB to USB C conector:


It's less prone to disconnect if I have a single cable like the first image.

Does DJI has a list of recommended OTG cables as they have with the SD cards?

Best cable is one with both ends micro USB, 90 degrees ends give a better fit.

Which one do you guys recommend for iPhone?
