Flying low is a bit pointless as the camera is easily replaceable by a camera phone and risk of hitting objects is rather high.... But sometimes , but just sometimes.... it's fun

You cannot move in or about the subject of the video as easily with a smartphone or movie camera as you can with a Mavic in tripod mode. I haven't tried this low level technique, but I can see great potential. Thanks for mentioning.

Its not pointless, most of your shot could not be done by a handheld camera..  try walk in the snow in that speed without bumping the camera around, even  with a handheld gimbal..  Its not all about flying high with a drone, i use to fly less high now, its not so intresting higher up, only in the beginning when looking at your own house, its the close up shots who are intresting..With that said,  nice video

I'm with OP that it is mostly pointless.
And I don't like the video (especially the music ^^), but as a fellow pilot I can tell you I also love to fly low, more with spark than with mavic though.
Keep on flyin (don't take my honest opinion about the video personally, most people seem to like it, so what do I know )

Suggestion for snow video or photography, increase exposure. Automatic exposure is calculated / scene averaged on middle gray (in case of color in mid tone brigtness). Increasing exposure in snow scene will brighten snow.Marty

Hmm...looks like you had plenty of clearance on most everything.  I was flying a couple of days ago through small gates, etc.  Also like flying along at 1 foot or so off the ground, sometimes closer over the snow.  I hope to remember to shut down collision avoidance next time, so it doesn't try so hard to prevent some of the passages.  Now and then, I had to change elevation to clear a perceived obstacle in front of me before it would proceed.  A learning experience for sure.

It is a very nice view.  Also, being higher would mean dealing with branches, etc.  Try weaving in and around trees without going low.  It will depend on what kind of tree, of course.

Great video, not pointless. I fly around my yard, weaving in and out around trees, over and under stuff. It's good practice to improve your stick skills.

Cool vid. I think many people think drone and they immediately think up high. There is so much utility in an easily maneuverable camera for so many dynamic shots. can you get low shots with a phone? Sure. But can you get them with speed and infinite panning tracking etc.? No.

Actually, it wasn't cold at all 100 meters below there No snow whatsoever and all the time temperatures were above 0 degrees Centigrade. Overal till now we had no winter, but weather forecast keep promising it

No, this one is shot in the Mountains (Rila mountain - the highest mountain in Bulgaria, thou not in highest region )

I like flying low more than I do flying high.  Where it gets really interesting is when you fly underneath stuff and gain altitude, kinda like a dronie.  Great video!

Proximity gives action in flight
