[size=14.6667px]Hi,
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]new owner of MPP. Did couple of test flights today and was disappointed with video & photos coming out of drone.
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]I've uploaded videos here for you to see:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/shoq92esbge50si/AADJCJojWnBWYz8TcXrUDoCja?dl=0
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]Setting as follows:
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]Grain 1.mp4
[size=14.6667px]- latest firmware
[size=14.6667px]- 4K, 30fps
[size=14.6667px]- 1/320
[size=14.6667px]- 100 ISO
[size=14.6667px]- WB Cloudy
[size=14.6667px]- D-log
[size=14.6667px]- style settings 0,0,0
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]Grain 2, Grain3.mp4
[size=14.6667px]- latest firmware
[size=14.6667px]- 4K, 30fps
[size=14.6667px]- 1/60
[size=14.6667px]- 100 ISO
[size=14.6667px]- WB Cloudy
[size=14.6667px]- D-log
[size=14.6667px]- style settings +1,-1,-1
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]As you see I've kept highest video quality with lowest ISO, only change in style setting but didn't help. You can see a lot of grain (pixelation?) in video. Let me know what do you think since the videos I see on youtube are usually crystal clean.
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]I'm doing semi professional photography but I've never seen such a poor quality of video neither on my Nikon D750, iphone 6s or GoPro camera. I understand small sensor limitation but I still think this is not OK quality.
[size=14.6667px]

[size=14.6667px]Thank you for your help

You will tend to get more pixelation with the Mavic when recording 4K due to the low bit rate of 60MBPS. I find 2.7K a better solution. The colours also look flat but that is probably because you are using D-LOG. The images also seem a little over exposed - this won't help. Are you using an ND filter to keep the exposure value below 0 whilst keeping the shutter speed at 1/60th - given the Mavic's fixed aperture of f2.2?

Hi,

D-log is the reason for flat colors, but I will correct that in Premiere (fyi, uploaded LUT corrected version of Grain 3 to same link). I'm still waiting for ND filter, thus this shot is without. I didn't care for slight overexposure since I wanted to test shutter 1/60 for more cinematic effect.

Will try also to see 2.7K but my aim is to shoot and output videos in 4K.

Here are some stills with my MPP. You've got to play around a bit

The shutter will mainly affect the motion blur rather than pixelation. Get a set of ND's, switch to 2.7K and see how you get on with a bit more flying time.

Finally manage to get some "good" weather over weekend to do some more videos - although sun still doesn't want to "cooperate" . I've uploaded on the same link.

Setting same as before just updated to latest FW and ND8 polarpro (on the sunny one I should use ND16 next time as there is some overexposure in clouds):
- latest firmware
- 4K, 30fps (or 2.7K - see the filename description)
- 1/60
- 100 ISO
- WB Cloudy
- D-log
- style settings +1,-1,-1
- ND8

From what I see the video with more light (i.e. some sun present) tends to be better at least to my taste. The cloudy ones are again more pixelated/grainy.  2.7K also seems a little better but not a major difference - again to my taste - but would have to test in more scenarios/weather conditions.

I've also shoot some POI with barn in the center. It seems that the griany effect is more pronounced when shooting grass - seems that in all videos that mavic doesn't "like" this kind of patterns.

And for the end I've uploaded also one photo just to see the stills.

Let me know what do you think.
