hello i have phantom 4 i have not upgrate firmware since april or may 2017, i fly with no problem, now i update the dji go 4 up and the drone is locked, what can i do to unlocked and fly again?sould i make the firmware update? iam afraid to do it... thank you

You should update. That's the reason to be locked

the message is device locked, and when I try to arm motors it say you have to update to unlocked, buy I read many posts and many drones have problems after upgrate, what can I do?

Regret your App got updated ...
You might be able to unlock with the wizard tool who's name can't be written here, you know the one people use to downgrade from the latest disaster releases.

Which firmware is your aircraft using ? (look in 'About' in general setting menu with all powered up).

It may perhaps be looking for the 'fly-safe data' to be updated.

There you will also see the flysafe data mentioned, which can be upgraded fairly easily if device has an internet connection.

Try to connect with a device that is offline (no internet access) and press "Check for updates" in "About" section of general settings. It will prompt "Latest firmware" and unlock the AC. That's did mine at least..
I overcome this problem and I can fly again with old firmware. I just fly with the device in airplane mode. The only glitch is that it requires to update the RC and instead of shownig "Ready to fly" in upper bar it says "Update required" although it flies without problem..

Hi Susan, I want to ask, is warranty void if I fly with the old firmware 01.02.0602 in case of something goes wrong e.g. flyaway, fall from the sky etc?

Hi DJI Susan , the dji go 4 version is 4.1.22  Updated
December 28, 2017 from google play,   the last time I updaye my drone and control is before june,i cant look now the version of firmware but i will,  I want to update my drone to the latest version but if I have problems what can I do then?

I have the same setup except the RC that is on 1.6 firmware.
I flew today without problems on ipad mini 4.
If it doesn't unlock the way I told you try a android device. I don't know if unlocking works the same in iOS app.

I unlocked it, iam using an android devise

I had the same problem as you. Update was required, drone locked (all LEDs on drone RED)

1) turn off drone and controller
2) turn off internet connection on your phone/tablet
3) turn on controller, dji go app and drone

Wait for stable firmware... I hope 02.00.700 will solve all the problems

George, the warranty will not be affected if you keep the old firmware. If all firmware have been updated to the latest version and connect the local internet, but the issue remains, please kindly offer your DJI Account, the screenshot of About page and error message, we'll look into the exact status.
