Very Jerky flight after update.

Since my last DJI firmware update my Phantom 4 flys in a very jerky fashion. I have reinstalled firmware two times as well as recallibrated IMU, compass and even turned off
all sencors.  It hovers and climbs perfectly. I also changed out the propeller mounts.  Any ideas?

This is a known issue with the last P4 production firmware v...106.

You should PM a DJI admin here (DJI Thor, DJI Dianna and DJI Susan frequent here often) requesting access to the beta firmware v...600. This solves the erratic flying problem, as well as an issue recording video in 4K. You'll need to provide them with your DJI account email address to enable access.

106 is far from perfect, but make sure you have the latest controller firmware,
   you still may get  warnings  when flying  strong winds  etc.   i think its due to the  flight instability  that is one of the issues with 106 firmware
with a bit of luck the next official firmware update will resolve the issue   when it comes  soon we all hope!

Hi. Which version of DJI GO 4 are you running? I think you’ll find that the wind warnings are the app, and not the firmware.

I did another firmware update yesterday to V02.00.0106 dated 2017-07-06.   The craft is essentialy unflyable. Hoover’s well but that’s it.  Have requested with Susan and Diana but nothing new on my Assistant 2. Am I doing this right?  Not a wiz at this!

You need access to the beta .600, but there's a beta .700 now available to a closed test group. DJI appear to have removed access to .0600 as a result, which is not helping new people updating to the faulty .0106.

Ordinarily I'd be suggesting that you PM a request to DJI Susan, Diana or Thor with your  DJI account email.

John, have you tried to reinstall the DJI Assistant 2? If it persists, please try a windows PC if you can.

Hi Diana,

I have a Phantom 4.  I have checked all The propellers and mounting plates and they are all secure.  The firmware/versions are:

App on Samsung S8 is 4.1.18
Aircraft firmware is 02.00.0106
R/C firmware is 1.9.3
I will try the IMU calibration and also use my iPad 4 mini.   But it didn't do it until after the update.  Is there away to do the firmware update again.

It's a known issue with that firmware. There is a beta v...700  too, but only offered to a closed group of lucky few.

Thanks for FW ..700.  Upgraded today and it flew like a dream.  Hovered and landed better than ever.  Very stable in flight and all the Intelligent flight modes worked well.  Didn't fly above 50m or farther than 200m out but seems to be good. Thanks again!

I have been following this thread intently.  I am having identical problems.  After updating my iPAD PRO to the newest release, the DJI Go 4, app to v4.1.22, the aircraft to v02.00.0106, Precise Fly Safe Database to v01.00.01.07, and the Basic Fly Safe Database to v01.00.01.05, the horizontal flight is jerky.  Mind you, the gimbal seems to compensate for the jerky flight, and the horizon is level in all flight modes on mine.  But the jerky flight is VERY unnerving.  If the update to .600 or .700 has fixed the issue, I would appreciate it if I were added to the list of beta testers.  One item that was not mentioned in this thread that I can see is that when the jerky flight is happening, the blue horizon bar on the round rose on the bottom-left corner of the map display goes nuts too.

Pm DJI Diana, she helped me and all my problems went away.  I did download assistant 2 for the uodate.  That program allows you to reset to factory prior to the update and then reflash it.  It's also much easier to update your firmware.  I flashed it with every battery and then it also allows you to calibrate the VPS.  Once it's all updated make sure you do a IMU calibration.  I'm not sure that's all required but it works great.   Good luck.

Thanks for the tips.  I have Assistant 2, and can update through it.  I have only used my IPAD in the past since it is the nearly 100% dedicated control device I use for the drone.  I just sent DJI Dana my account info.  Looking forward to making my post back on this thread that .700 fixed my issues as well
