Anyone knows what's Spark terminal velocity at 0 MSL for the impact point?
Cannot find that info in Spark specs.
Many thanks in advance.

The maximum speed it reaches in freefall due to gravity

Exactly. It's easy to calculate terminal velocity in vacuum.
However, neither Spark nor any other multirotor can fly in vacuum thus we fly in the fluid known as air.
A lot of things than come into the play from air drag to buoyancy.
Fluid dynamics is pretty complex topic so problem starts to be complex as well.

Anyways, for those that want to know more, here you go:

Open field, 400 feet, shut off the motors, pick up the pieces, upload log file and you’ll have a starting point (track start altitude, weather conditions, ambient temp, etc). Post surface conditions where it drops along with pictures and you can also compile damage results.
Sounds like fun, you first : )

I'm surprised how deep we are thinking with such a small device.
I'm sure the next thought will be flying in space !

Ok... so I had an idea how to find terminal velocity....
Run simulator, set height to maximum limit in fw (500m) then issue CSC. Observe what would be the speed once Spark hits the virtual ground.
BUT, I cannot issue CSC in simulator. Tried both ways, left stick down and both sticks inner-down but to no avail.
Any idea how to simulate CSC in simulator? How to cause interference in simulator or other severe case that might happen so I am able to do CSC?
Many thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, this is not an option as latest FW and DJI GO 4 app don't allow for shutting off the motors in-flight.
I would also like to try nose-in fall as I suspect terminal velocity should be heigher due to lower effective area as well as lack of propeller auto-rotation.
Something also not possible with the Spark as it lacks acro mode so I can't orient it nose-down.

Break out the protractor, model the cross section you want to test, and calculate via handy dandy physics.

I gotta ask - why are you interested in this??  Academic curiosity, or something more sinister (I have this image of your Spark giving its last energy plowing into your ex-wife's car)....

And I trust you's let us know date and time when you try CabinPete's most excellent suggestion??  I'd pay money to watch that...

Anyway, really cool topic.

It's mostly academic, maybe with some practical usage as well.
Some countries have limit on drones based on energy they deliver during the impact.
One of such limitations is that you don't even have to register your flyer in case it does not exceed 79J of energy during the impact.... for the case of vacuum, that means Spark could be flown below around 23m and still having no potential energy above the said limit even in free fall.
Since Spark cannot be flown in vacuum, but needs fluid, namely air, a lot of things like drag, buoyancy etc.... gets into the play.

So, for vacuum, it's simple E = m x g x h (m = mass, g = gravity constant, h = height). For air, things get complicated and thus interesting.... and since kinetic energy can be expressed as E = (m x v ^2) / 2, I am interested in v (max) in the air for the case of free fall.
