i purchased a phantom 4 advanced yesterday and it will not connect to my phone or the controllor combo, so best buy now wants a 15% restocking fee for a 1300$ item i have yet to even turn on properly.. what should i do? when may DJI be releasing a fix for this? i have an iphone 8+

Hello Chris, may I know what's the current OS of your mobile and APP version? Please try to reinstall the APP or change to another working cable to see whether it helps.

my Iphone is on the current update, my GO DJI app was re installed as well and the cables were tested on different devices and all worked, i tried two cables. DJI told me its a problem with the iphone 8+ just simply not working... id love to know when this will be fixed so my 1300$ will stop collecting dust

I thought under consumer protection act they couldnt charge a restocking fee under these circumstances.
only if you change your mind after purchase but if the product isnt working they have no right to charge a restocking fee
