Has anyone travel on Commercial Airline with their drone and batteries?  Is this an issue at check-in?  Are they considered hazardous material?

I travel to Europe regularly, I pack my batteries in protective bags and the only stipulation from the airline is that they are in hand luggage and not hold (suitcase ) hope this helps

Ignore about half of what you read on forums.
There are a lot of myths, including lipo bags, discharging batteries etc.
Instead of asking for the opinions of people who may not know, you could look at what your airline has to say on the matter:

Labroides is correct there are myths etc, it you have lipo bags then take them anyway, most airlines require them, here in the UK I'm always asked. Maybe it's a UK thing

That's the first time I've heard anyone mention being asked about Lipo bags.
I've never seen any airline mention them on the dangerous goods section of their website.

Wow by trying to help someone it's opened up a debate, I have travelled over Europe and the far East and I've been asked about my batteries on numerous occasions mainly when leaving here in the UK, I've been asked I pass through customs not by the airline as they scan all hand luggage, I also have to take the battery out both for my camera and drone, what they do in other countries outside of where I have travelled I'm not able to answer, when I return to the USA I will pack them as I always do.

Hey Zbo, it is recommended to contact the airline company to check their specific regulations. If it is available, discharge the battery fully will be better on board.
