I am removing myself from the great Inspire 1 gene pool, for flying my Inspire into a power line directly in front of my house (I was flying a battery down to 50% for a long storage). I have spent too much of my families treasure buying this awesome quad. And now trying to recoup as much money back as possible, then hand it back over to my wife. Were it will be better spent :-)

List of damages:

The left rear motor broke off when it hit the power line. Both rear props broke, Front motors and props were untouched. The Inspire fell 25 feet landing on it's belly destroying the camera/ gimball /Camera bottom plate, sliding across the street scraped the underside (opticflow sensor, etc.). Front two landing gear struts broke but the rear are still good. The Inspire's arms were untouched and operate up and down normally. I have 3 batteries (2 TB-47 and 1 TB-48), I would like help seeing how much I can recoup.

The parts that broke are very expensive and the reality you may not get much back if you end up selling it. If some one where to buy it from you war humber would make you happy? Motor, gimbal...

Gimabal $550.00
Gimbal Mount $ 80.00
New motor set ( they don't sell you a singe motor) $ 319.00

Almost 1k in parts plus who will want to put the effort to fix it?
It seems very difficult to be able to get a good amount of $ if you sell it... but maybe by knowing how much is each part you might be able to come up with a fair price for you and the buyer.

Hi Joe-

I don't want to hijack the thread.... but were can I buy the "motor set"?
I have not found anybody that has the 3510 motors in stock (the 800's do not have the same attachment points on the bottom of the motor). I  would like to change my motors out soon as I fly lots in a place full of sand and dust. The price of a new motor is cheap compared to having one fail at the wrong time.

I was hoping around $1100 (us). We'll see what offers I get? I posted it on Craigslist. Thanks for your input.

Why wouldn't you send it in to DJI and see what it would cost to repair?  You might be surprised, or they might offer you a discount on a new/refurb.

Clearly in a rush and doesn't check his email or threads. I found his number and talked to him and he had someone running to grab it 10:00PM...

Hopefully the buyer attempts to fix it and not eBay it.

Other than the camera/gimbal the repair would not be a whole lot. Worst case, someone could use it as a backup/trainer without the camera.

I appreciate all the information and advice you all gave me. I know I could've gotten a little more but a guy 50 miles down the road called 1.5 hrs after I posted it on CL and he was willing to drive at 11pm. so I sold it. please don't beat me up to  bad on the forum. It broke my soul to see it go. Now I 'll read the Inspire threads with nostalgia.   

Durr  & SBerryJackson,  I was not ignoring you. Life just got busy and I was dealing with the CL calls txt.

The buyer lives in Sacramento, CA. and he works at a RC warehouse. He said that he's going to use it for spare parts incase his crashes. I think he'll sell some parts to make some money back.
