We used the new DJI Zenmuse X7 for a complete commercial shoot for a fashion label. We shot from the air, but mainly on the ground holding the Inspire 2 & controller. We used only ambient light and in the late afternoon shot many scenes in low light wide open at 1600 ISO in Ei mode.


The D-log looked a bit noisey but it graded up clean. We shot Prores 4444 at 4K
focus was tricky and as you can see in the video there are some very soft moments, however does it really matter?

It's not that obvious in this video about the tricky focus issue since it is compressed, if you have the issue, please provide us the original footage which can be upload to Dropbox or Google Driver, we will help to analyze.

Nicely done. Looks like X7 worked well in low light. I didn't notice anything significant with focusing issues.

Thanks. We have finished one other production "Over the Wilderness" it can be seen on you tube under 5kdigitalfilm along with a BTS. We are working this week with the X7 and have a music video next month.
So you can say I have some limited experience with it.

The only thing is the last packshot footage (long fly away) - did you use optical distortion removal on post-prod.?  

And also - how did you manage filming with INSP2 not in the air but on hands?
All my tries to do it finished with obvious twitching from left to right, right to left.
It was with X5S, maybe X7 is heavier and more stable for that matter? Still waiting for X7 delivery...

Im not sure about distortion removal as i didnt do the post.
On the ground we still had dual operator, one holding the I2 and myself  controling the gimbal.
Flyaways are tricky to get perfect, its practice and you need no wind for it to work well, Pete my pilot has a lot of experience.

Wery nice video. Remember to turn of the from lights on the drone, when filing toward a window ;-)
