Drone maker DJI monitoring potential backlash from rising US-China tensions . . . wellIf you are serious DJI, how about updating the Assintant 2 program such that when its connected to an iPad or android device with DJI Go & Go4 installed on it that it can save the flight logs to the connected computer in a readable form as a CSV or Excel file.  This way pilots can save thier own logs without sending all their flight information to a server somewhere in China.

The last time I was updating, I got a popup message to turn off Airplane mode. ;-)

Not really a problem but the solution is simple.
Go to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Follow the instructions there to upload your flight record from your phone or tablet and you'll get exactly what you want.

Thanks I'll give that a try.  Hopefully I can send my whole log of 800+ flights.

Works OK for a single flight but not a way to do my whole flight log.

RHP can you elaborate please?
You were updating GO 4?  Did the GO 4 app tell you to turn off Airplane mode or the phone told you?
Thanks

DatCon & CsvView are great for analyzing a single flight record but don't make a good logbook record of all of your flights.

I thought I had replied to this question prior?

Yes, it was the regular Go app updating my Phantom 3  Pro. That was the first time, I had ever had this message. My iPad Air2 is left in Airplane mode all of the time.

But to be clear on this it was the GO app that told you to turn off Airplane mode?
If so, I find that extremely interesting, and then have to wonder why it would do that.  It certainly receives my suspicions...

Yes, not sure why this would matter, unless "they" are collecting info, as the update takes place?

It went right back to Airpane mode when it was finished.

Just a Quick Scan of the harddrive, while we stalk I mean stall a few moments.... Haha

That's why mine is a dedicated device. The iPad Air 2 in my flight kit, is specific to that end.

I keep all my other personal data and pics on my other iPad. Maybe that should be shut off while doing all updating as well? Wicked grin

Concur
Mine is solely dedicated to the P4P
Almost always I fly when I'm nowhere near my network, but good point.
I'd like to think our suspicions are unfounded but I'm not so convinced and the track record thus far does not lend itself to feeling any different either.

The saying: "Better to be safe than sorry". Goes a long way here.

It's not paranoia, just basic caution. Nothing wrong with that theory. Haha

Airplane mode shuts off WiFi, so it would be quite normal for the app to ask you to switch it off, otherwise the iPad could not download the update from the internet.

If yours disconnects, you can reestablish it without issue.

My iPads are always on Airplane mode, I'm in it right now.
