Based upon your experience, Any recommendations on bright displays, reliable devices for flight operations? I am currently using my iPhone 7 and it works fine but may be looking to upgrade in the future. I opted not to get the pro+ due to the software install lockout. Is there a smartphone or tablet screen out there or one listed as DJI compatible that is just as bright ‎1000 cd/m² or close in comparison?

Simply no, and that's exactly why there's a line-up to get DJI CrystalSky monitor ...

CrystalSky seems to be one of the best. Adding it to the DJI setup would be nice. As of right now, I only see the iPhone 7 and X coming in as Pro+ alternative solution, in comparison; 600+ cd/m2 vs CrystalSky 1000 cd/m2. No regrets on purchase, just curious on what other DJI users prefer. Thanks for any feedback.

The only downside I can see with the CrystalSky apart from its price is that you can't or at least I believe you can't use 3rd party apps.

You can use up to 20 third party apps.

Yup, just not Google Play Services or Google Play Store yet? The 5.5" CS screen display is far superior to any IOS or Android phone and if you watch the sales from authorized DJI resellers you can get the 5.5" for around $439 USD
My go to device for Go App's, use Litchi more often than not, maybe someday DJI will allow Google Play & Google Services so we can use Litchi with the CS !

I have 7.8 and 5.5 I find them great, just a little slow on updates.

When you say you can use up to 20 third party apps, were do these apps come from and how do you install, are these apps already on the device?

I think the Xperia P might struggle a bit though to be fair..

S8 is indeed over 1000 and think note 8 is up there too.

See this YouTube video by Mad RC which fully explains how to install third-party apps on the Crystalsky:

I had a CS and am now very happy with the 10" iPad Pro, it is bright, and works great in full sun.

Hands down the brightest display available by a factor of two is the DJI Crystalsky Ultra-bright 7.85" monitor.  I've been flying DJI aircraft for over 3 years, own four of them and was using Apple iPad Air2 and Apple iPad Pro 10.5" tablets previously (and trouble free, I might add).  However, the Crystalsky UB is significantly brighter than any tablet or phone (iOS or Android) that I've used or tested previously.  Without exaggeration you can use the Crystalsky UB without a sun shield in bright sunlight with the sun shining directly on the screen and at MAX brightness you can see the live view image on the DJI GO 4 app screen perfectly clearly - bright and crisp.  Unbelievable!  And one battery lasted me for a three-hour shoot with 20% still left at the end with the monitor at MAX brightness the entire time.

So far, I've had zero hardware issues with my Crystalsky UB - no lock ups, no app crashes, decent live video frame rate.  However, other users have reported some hardware problems and backlight screen failures - hopefully the percentage of bad units is small.  I have only one software issue right now - on my P4 I see only 0% battery level reported on the DJI GO 4 camera screen. No such problem with flying my P4Pro, Inspire 1 or Phantom 3 Pro, however. Also, the DJI GO app on the Crystalsky does not currently support recording pilot audio commentary with the cached video files stored on the Crystalsky. The DJI GO 4 app does support recording audio.

Ive been able to use Litchi with my 5.5" Crystal Sky for most of the last 8 months. Downloaded on the CS via the amazon app store (had to download amazon app store onto CS). I also had to repurchase the Litchi app since I couldnt connect it through Google Play Services. This has been used with my Mavic Air.

Soon, I'll have a P4 v2.0 and I see how well it works with the new drone.

Hi Folks, I can get my Ph4 Pro V2 to work with my CrystalSky HB monitor but not through the cable inbuilt on the DJI mount for this monitor to the PH4 PV2.
I have to use a separate cable from the RC to sideport on the monitor.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Just FYI, I own the galaxy note 10 plus, and do not find the screen satisfactory for use in the full sun. Was very disappointed. I have to use the monitor hood. The galaxy note 10 plus was not cheap - officially rated at 686 nits.
