This makes my choice harder

I would go with proper Mavic. You want range when in mountains, and 500m max range for european android users is a bit too short I think.

Controller looks the same as for the Spark, interested to know if they are the same.

From the pictures I do not see how it could be 3 axis gimbal. Better camera is nice, but what I hope most for is occusync. Not for range but for connection stability.

I think its 32MP spheric panorama the camera is only 12MP!...

Hah, you were closer to the price point.  It is a Mavic without the occusync link or fancy remote.  120fps in 1080p is interesting.  It really looks like it has part of the Spark's gimbal.  

$799 for this Mavic Air or,...$850-ish for the Mavic Pro, on Amazon, that has Occusync and a remote with extra display.  So do you need long range or small "put in pocket" size?

It has the side usb plug like Mavic. And removable gimbal sticks.

Looks like a spark successor.

As I feared all accessories are dedicated to only it.
Yet another rc
Yet another battery
Yet another power supply
Yet another kind of spare props.
Yet another kind of prop guards.
Would have to buy all of that once more, and it can’t be used for anything else.

While still being stuck with the go app.
Oh my!

When will be realesed the firmware update for spark that will allow it to 2000m CE 2.4?

It does look like a Spark successor.  Priced like a Mavic Pro ($850 vs. $799), folding arms like a Mavic Pro, camera from a Mavic Pro, and packaged with a remote like the Mavic pro.

I think the Mavic Pro got hamstrung by adding the Spark's simple wifi link and losing the spiffy remote display.  DJI realizing they can't sell 7 km range drones in a countries with VLOS laws?

I don’t know what are them doing, Mavic air kill the SPARK. SPARK has a very bad battery managment, we tested with four friends and no more than 10 minutes, not 16. If DJI not fix the SPARK, This product is dead!. Or is going to a toy with is not more than 100  bucks  at the Market, and Tello go to 50. This is a risk game if not go to fine line.

If you dude than I am say, test a toy like Syma x5c, with battery of 600 miliamp, and fly about 11 minutes, This battery cost 4 bucks. Syma is 916 gr and SPARK 300 gr and fly 10 minutes with 60 bucks.  3 times more weigth and 3 times more efficient. Something wrong have SPARK, with your battery.
