Just look how quick interference sends drone into Atti mode, although it’s a phantom, it would be similar in Spark.

Ohh wow, what a surpise. A smartphone or magnet closer than 5cm gives some warnings.
Thats some really new knowledge...not.

But what should one expect even if Atti is already misspelled.

I don’t know if it’s helping you having a bigger mouth than a brain,

The thread is more about getting iPhone with RC or similar to close to drone to see effect it can have on the drone.

Incidentally oh is spelt oh, simple to get wrong yeah.

I did  find out this with a spark , was changing settings while turned on , on a table and spark got compass error because he was close to my keyboard, after that i place it on my floor , and it turns out in my flore i have reinforcements with steel , and compass error shows again.
So not only magnet , but MAGNETIC object .

That’s great news! That means I can force it to atti mode by sticking a small magnet to it when flying indoors.
And no more be afraid of sudden speed changes.

You can do that by just covering GPS receiver with tin foil. It’s not my video but I’m thinking that all is happening is he is covering GPS receiver with phone and magnetic disc and hand.
No report of compass error from magnetometers.

Is it helping you to offend me? Old man you are getting personal again....
Go and get some knowledge about dji drones and you will see that this is nothing new.

Maybe it is just your age or tiny height but something must be wrong with you or your mind.

If you have nothing to add don’t bother, if you can’t take the insults don’t give them , now be on your way you have nothing to add here.

If you looked at the video properly you would have seen there was no warnings just saying Aircraft was going into Atti mode, nothing to do with magnetic interference but rather the person covering the top of drone where GPS receiver is, he didn’t need magnet or phone he could have got same effect using a wet hand.
But you obviously didn’t get that with all your knowledge he he...

Covering the gps receiver does not force it to atti mode, just opti.
Maybe the magnet trick can’t force atti either :-(

I have seen covering with tin foil with Mavic inciting Atti mode.

Are you kidding me? Maybe you should watch the video properly.
A red bar with "Compass error. Exit Gps Mode" is no warning?
Check your glasses!

At least it will work if the foil also covers the bottom sensors.
Maybe a business opportunity, selling tin hats for the spark.

Thanks!
I think the wifi antennas are in the rear arms so it will work fine.
Good for safer indoor flight.
No RTH with lost signal, so I won’t try it outdoors.

The demonstration is flawed on quite a few levels.

First he performed the test indoors. He admitted that according to the telemetry there were only four satellites registered. These satellites are constantly moving in and out of sight so  the four logged were probably the only ones viewable indoors, and even then only just. Next when he was bringing his phone closer to the quad he was screening/blocking the GPS receiver from the weak satellite signals. Even his hand would have attenuated the signals quite significantly forcing the quad into ATTI mode.

Magnetic field strength is subject to the inverse square rule where the reduction in strength increases exponentially with distance. The magnetic field induced by the RF (radio waves have both an electrical field and magnetic field) in the controllers antennas would be significantly greater than that generated by the phone.

That was exactly my point. Your correct good job.

It is not about the GPS, it is about the Compass.
