DJI team,

There seems to be quite a number of people who aren't familiar with their countries UAV regulations, therefore it may be useful to have a "sticky" post showing where these can be found.

The following site contains information relating to regulations worldwide and would serve as a quick reference, however as UAV laws are passed/amended, there is no substitute for your countries official governing body:  https://droneregulations.info

If there's enough interest, I don't mind creating and maintaining a list of each countries official reg's.

Thats a great idea - thanks for sharing. Note that the UK regs are going to change considerably over the year as new laws are passed through parliament following a consultation last year - namely mandatory registration, needing to pass an on line test to get registered and very harsh punishments if caught breaking the UKCAA drone code. Though 400' AGL and 500M away restrictions will remain.

Matching the topic you can find here the thread "How to correctly label your Dji Drone"

It is about the size and position of a fireproof label for german regulations on your Dji drones.

Rules for recreational drones in CANADA

To fly a recreational drone (or model aircraft), you must follow the safety rules in the Interim Order Respecting the Use of Model Aircraft.
Review these rules before flying a drone for fun, if the drone weighs over 250 g and under 35 kg. If your drone is 250 g or less, read our tips for flying safe.
Following the safety rules helps keep people, aircraft and property safe. If you fly where you are not allowed or you break the rules below, you could be fined up to $3,000.

Fly your drone:
•below 90 m above the ground
•at least 30 m away from vehicles, vessels and the public (if your drone weighs over 250 g and up to 1 kg)
•at least 75 m away from vehicles, vessels and the public (if your drone weighs over 1 kg and up to 35 kg)
•at least 5.5 km away from aerodromes (any airport, seaplane base or area where aircraft take off and land)
•at least 1.8 km away from heliports or aerodromes used by helicopters only
•outside of controlled or restricted airspace
•at least 9 km away from a natural hazard or disaster area
•away from areas where its use could interfere with police or first responders
•during the day and not in clouds
•within your sight at all times
•within 500 m of yourself
•only if clearly marked with your name, address and telephone number

You are exempt from these rules if you are at a field or event approved by the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada.

Thank you for all your input, it's all great information and very much appreciated.

I realise that there are app's, maps, and a whole manner of other ways to check regulations, however you cannot be assured of their accuracy.
What I'm looking to do is create a list of links to each countries governing body as a quick reference.

I'm unsure whether I'm reinventing the wheel or not

For Australia:

You must only fly during the day and keep your drone within visual line-of-sight. This means being able to see the aircraft with your own eyes (rather than through a device) at all times.

You must not fly your drone higher than 120 metres (400ft) above the ground.

You must keep your drone at least 30 metres away from other people. (Measured horizontally, not vertically)

You must not fly your RPA over or near an area affecting public safety or where emergency operations are underway (without prior approval). This could include situations such as a car crash, police operations, a fire and associated firefighting efforts, and search and rescue.

You must only fly one RPA at a time.

You must not fly over or above people. This could include beaches, parks, events, or sport ovals where there is a game in progress.

If your drone weighs more than 100g, you must keep at least 5.5km away from controlled aerodromes. Flying within 5.5km of a non-controlled aerodrome or helicopter landing site (HLS) is possible, but only if no manned aircraft are operating to or from the aerodrome. If you become aware of manned aircraft operating to or from the aerodrome/HLS, you must manoeuvre away from the aircraft and land as soon as safely possible.

Remember, you must not operate your drone in a way that creates a hazard to another aircraft, person or property.

Respect personal privacy don’t record or photograph people without their consent—this may breach state laws.

We also have State laws governing flying drones in State owned parks... I only know that Victoria has law saying no drones allowed to take off and land in Parks Victoria land.

Thanks for putting this together, it makes Drone flying safer for everyone!

Thanks for the info Greg.  I'm finding that most reg's are based around the same framework with a few tweaks here and there.

For example, I found the following sections interesting:  "You must not fly your RPA over or near an area affecting public safety or where emergency operations are underway (without prior approval). This could include situations such as a car crash, police operations, a fire and associated firefighting efforts, and search and rescue."

"You must only fly one RPA at a time" - Are you raising some type of superhuman in Aus' that the government need to legislate against this?  It's difficult enough keeping one in the air, never-mind multiple aircraft

I hope you don't mind, but I've added a link to the CASA site instead.

Not worth the money, it only states the rules per country. If they combined this info with NFZ's and weather I would buy it in a heart beat.

Yes, bushfires are a big problem in Australia and firefighting planes and helicopters are grounded if any drones are flying in the area.
And with automated flight plans available on platforms like the Mavic, it would be quite easy to set up a Mavic to follow some waypoints, and then put up a Spark to record the Mavic flying along...

Thanks for creating this thread, it helps to make our hobby safer, good for all

Hi Vulcan-XH558,

Great idea.

The rules for flying drones in Denmark was updated in 2017. The traffic agency made a speciel site with info about the rules for flying drones in Denmark.
The web site is:

www.droneregler.dk or http://www.trafikstyrelsen.dk/da/droneregler

The page is the same, but it is easier to remember the first link. Most part is unfortunately in danish, but there are links to the rules in english.

In general you a not allowed to fly a drone within a city or city like area, without have  special license that certifies that you have been educated in the rules and precautions need for flying a drone within a city.

The most important rules are shown in this short video (4 min.) in english.

Here in Italy nothing and I mean nothing can fly on the beach when it is diving season, from 1st July to 30th september. How's that handled in Spain? Unfortunatley I can't translate Spanish, thanks for the info.

This is an awesome thread, very useful tks! I'm summed up 130+ countries https://www.drone-made.com/drone-laws
I guess the biggest challenge is the ever evolving rules around drone use.
But I've got friends in most countries now + signed up to google alerts for each country so will do my best.
