Average Speed 19.77kph or 12.29mph - to get that out of average flight time it seems sports mod is your favourite. Nicely done. Any wear on parts etc to report?

thanks 4wd.
I have literally just found my first anomoly on my gimbal ribbon.
Other than this i have only changed props twice due to self imposed damage - other wise no other wear and tear to report. gimbal ribbon.GIF

Very well done !
It’s amazing how the distance racks up on these things.
And thanks on the reliability report. Nice to know.

Thanks flybird. I crashed twice, first time a few days after i got it - crashed into a tree - 2 props got damaged and a gimbal motor overload error occurred - recalibration did not repair the problem so it went back to china. So - new props that time.
Second time i crashed also into a tree and also 2 props got damaged - no other problems - i replaced the props and have been flying about 6 months with them.
Recently inspected they are still in A1 condition - i have spares but definately no need to change them at this time.

Thanks Bekaru!
Looks like the Mavic and the props are so robust that they can last over 1000KM!!!

That will give me more confident with Mavic.

Thanks again!

Is that a little chunk out of the rubber band? Just below your red mark that holds the camera gimbal?

well spotted thanks. These things are so small even with +2.5 specs it is tough to make out. I did just look again but will have to look again in day light - thanks for spotting it

Dang - it would be good of you could display your 1,000,000 meter milestone properly! DJI definitely owe you a consolation prize for that inconvenience! Good luck ....

For what it's worth, I've never done anything to my Mavic except change props occasionally as preventative maintenance. Never crashed and have had no issues whatsoever.

Nice catch! The Tailwind is strong with this one  My personal best is still 63.5kmh...

Congratulations on this outstanding milestone, Bekaru Tree! I tend to agree with the others - in flying there is no such thing as luck. The pilot either has the skills or not. The equipment is either working or not.

thanks bumbler, happy flying

still using 2 of my original 3 batteries - getting about 14min on each which is not bad considering i fly sport mode almost always.
The 3 rd original battery was damaged (probably in a crash although not noticed at the time) i sent it to my dealer to investigate and they (after about 4 months) sent 2 new batteries back to me

Congrats!

I know you took precious time out for the newbies in hopes that they read your suggestions. I'm not knocking anything you wrote as it is the true way to go. Only thing i thought when i read your post is why would a newbie read this when they won't read the manual or anything else that has to do with flying a Mavic. I've been coming to this forum for awhile now and nothing has changed. Post after post after post of snibbling cry babies and it's been quite comical for me as of late for some reason.

The Mavic Air will be my first (DJI) drone and I'm going through the forum looking for advice like this while I wait on my MA to arrive (1/31).  Have faith, there are still some newbies taking an old-fashioned approach (rtfm).  It's unfortunate that DJI hasn't posted the manual yet...seriously, I realized while looking at the quick start guide that I don't know how to pan the camera on the controller.

Until it arrives I'm practicing with a cheap drone <$100 to learn how to fly.  Try to get all the hard knocks out on the cheapie before I start working time in on the new drone.

I appreciate you guys spending time on the forums, helps tremendously.

Keep it up!

Thanks, and yes - long live the mavic.

It was like a brief personal revising out loud - i tell myself that if even one pilot gets a 'get out of jail free card' cause they read my post , then it was worth the bit of time it took.

Congrats..I secondcyourvthought on the camera sensor.  Love..love the pictures I get from my Mavic.  But can't wait for a 1" sensor!

i am finally starting to get nice pictures - the camera is about as new to me as rc flying has been - double learning curve - so glad i waited and landed with my mavic as my entry to this world

How many batteries did you use for this result ?

started with 3 up till about 500km - then one became a problem due to swelling cell (which might have been caused by me during my first crash) anyway dji replaced it on a warrentee basis.
The next 500, now 600km has been on the other 2 batteries.
Both are still working great. i am always in sport mode so i do not expect 27min. i am getting about 16-18 min per battery with usually about 20% on landing  - considering they are almost 1 year old, i am suitably impressed.
My other batteries i now keep as spare till i have some free time to do more flying than i can right now -

thanks - its been a great addition to my life. Unfortunately though it was a frustrating period in that i have suffered tremendously throughout with pixilation and disconnect issues.
Have now done 1200km and sending my drone back tomorrow.
Hopefully they will find the problems in my drone that plagues me and either repair or replace it.
