Hello , enyone knows what the "search your Drone" is for in the app and how it works ?

Does it only work when the Batteries are working still on the Drone ?

Sir, if you use "Find my drone", it will show the latitude and longitude of the position of your drone. It will save the last GPS position before disconnection. It works when the drone has GPS signal. Hope the info can help you. Thanks for your support.

It can only show the last location that the app has recorded  for your Phantom.
If the app recorded it crashing or landing, that will show where it went down.
But if the signal was lost the Phantom might be nowhere near the last recorded location.

Was that your last flight? Did you lose your drone?

Yes , Bashy , I right ... I lost my Drone in the wilderness of Sweden in deep snow

It would be better if the had an Mobile chip in the Drone, that would be kept alive with a small batterie.
Then you could track your Drone with a tracker... at enytime.

Stuppid funktion " With serch your Drone " when the batteri is working..... and no function with that button , when your batterie is dead on your Drone .

You can track a car , a child , a boat with a tracker....with a Mobile ship.

The Drone is a 1000 dollar and over , a small tracker wouldént be , to hard to put inside the Drone

Im not the last human that will lose my Drone... so more Questions will be asked about " How to find my lost drone " or " serch your Drone "

Otherwise , I Love my Drone and Im going to Florida for my Holiday next week

So buy a tracker if you want that function and attach it to the drone. I don't want to pay for extras I don't need.

You would Love to have a tracker button on your DRONE if you did lose it.

Its annoying , to have a button that has no function

When your DRONE is lost with , no batteries. How do you find it then ?

I did follow the " FLIGHT RECORD " to its last Altitude & Latitude... but there is no Drone there.

So . If this very expencive , high technology Drone , could have a tracker , it would be brilliant.

Atleast for beginers like me , that stil want to learn how to fly with a DRONE , with out losing it

Now I did learn that you cant fly a Drone when its windy outside , since the Drone cant get back to its homepoint on its own , when there is a strong wind

Learn to fly in ATTI mode, for better control.

Yes, strong wind is your enemy. Don't fly in it. Simple

In ATTI Mode without the benefit of the GPS you will need to learn to brake, by reversing direction.

Or you will drift into space. Please practice while you fly in an open clear area well away of any obstructions.

I did buy a second hand DJI Phantom 4 Advanced last week

So now I will be more crefull with the wind and practice in open space , but not in the forrest in the middel of the Swedish vinter

Its -20 where my Drone is now and 50-75 cm of snow, I will try to find it in the spring and send it to DJI for a check up

Compared to the $100.00 models many of us also have, we with these DJI drones are blessed with a lot of helpful features with safety in mind, built in.
But if we ignore the frailties, and go for broke, we may be left holding the RC, but little else. No thanks.

How is this Phantom 4 Advanced, you picked up recently, flying?

If you wait until spring to find the lost unit, it may be too late. By then, there is bound to be oxidation, perhaps even some rust.
The battery will certainly be toast, once all the snow around it melts.

If you had a real good idea where it landed, a decent quality metal detector may help locate it.

I know the limitations with my DJI Phantom 4 now

And the Drone is to far out in the Swedish wilderness, you cant even go there by foot , 50-70 cm snow

My new p4A is perfect

The minute the snow starts mellting , im gone to the forrest

I know where it is, but now its not possible to get there...

Ok, well good luck. I hope you can find it before the full spring thaw is on.
It would be great if you can retrieve it, not allowing it to become submerged in any spring run off.

Such a rich state, and illustrious residences, with lovely scenery.

Canada, has a few resorts, & yacht club locations, with wealth beyond your wildest dreams.
