OMG - so that means you need to post 60 videos a year (5 a month) with every single video lasting 4 minutes and every single one of your 1,000 subscribers will need to watch every second of all 60, 4 minute videos over the year. It seems to me that the only people that will realistically reach that goal are the minor celebs with >10,000 loyal subs. Drones are also quite niche so this explains why smaller drone channels are now including all types of tech. That is quite bad of YT I have to say.
It's hard, but as Wo said earlier, the impossible is possible. There are some other ways to get the videos noticed. Find a way to post them on other sites like Reddit or Facebook, etc.. Try your hand at tutorials, as these are videos that create a lot of watch time. I have a half dozen tutorials and originally they were made just for fun, but I've noticed that they get the most views, and by far the most watch time.
Some have worried that Youtube may come back and yet again change the rules for monetization, and it's a valid concern, but I also believe that this move will weed out the vast mounds of monetized garbage channels. I haven't run across any here at DJI forum, but there are millions of them out there, and I fully understand why YT is doing this.
After this I believe they probably won't need anything more drastic. This might even be too drastic and they might find they're shooting themselves in the foot and relax the rules. |
