I use you tube to let people see where I fly and dive.  I'm not doing to to have 1000 members to earn money.  I think asking strangers to subscribe just so you can earn money is not the way to go about it.

Monetizing is for one thing only ... money.

RC Model Reviews was hounded for months over the revenue his sites were earning ... despite the fact of how much info and help he gave to the RC Community ... the guys only on pension and could never have afforded to do what he did without 'Monetization'.
In my view and many others - he had good moral and understandable position for recv'g money for his videos.

But I do not support money for usual stuff ... its a hobby.

This brings us to an interesting point : Making video for reward - whether in kind or money - constitutes Commercial Use .... and conflicts with many countries rules on Model Flight - especially camera drones. I know this question did come up regarding Youtube in discussions with our Authorities here ...

Anyway - doesn't change the fact that 1000 subs is only a part of the equation ... the other part is far harder !! And I'm not including standards of video !

Alex ... you are therefore showing how little you know about the reasons for and what monetization did .....

There were people making quite healthy sums of it ... 000's of $ - YES ... 000's of $. It actually brought about the changes because of the sums involved. NOW it is not possible to make such sums .. and is why the people like 'Bruce' have had to find other avenues to keep funding their work.

And don't forget - its all based on advertising ... which YOU have to agree to ... you don't get money for YOUR video !!

I am not angry .... you read wrong. I just don't like a hobby to be mis-directed.

If you guys want to sub each other - fine, but I first of all pointed out the obvious error you guys made in thinking that 1000 subs is all you need to do. As you guys seemed to just ignore the fact - I provided other info - so you understand what it really became.

What has it become ? From a good source of reward for allowing advertising etc. via your videos ............ it has now become a near ZERO reward system and YOU still providing the advertising platform. If thed system had remained as it was before - I would not have been interested to post here ...

Good luck ... but present system is not even going to pay for a drink !! But Youtube and Advertisers will love you anyway !

I'm an amateur ... obviously my videos are amateurish ...
I do not think anyone can pay for this ...

I know the world ... I do not really like it at the moment ... everything is very (too) commercial ...

but ... when I can , I like to help people ...

subscribe ... it's free ... it's fun ... and it makes me feel better ...

when someone puts me "like" on my videos, I like ... I'm happy

everything is free (almost)
why not support through a subscription or a like other people ???

I am a dreamer ... and I always hope in the best ...
