Hello.  Is there a consensus on the best firmware to run for a P4P?
I need to take photos this weekend and prefer as few issues as possible.

FW: V 01.04.0602 seems to be the sweet spot for my P4P.

Current version has done this to my P4P so reverted to FW: V 01.04.0602

I updated to the latest on Sunday having held off since the P4P was just released and had held off letting the app update also which worked beautifully for over as year. So I was spared all these firmware issues learning my lesson from the P3P experience with firmware. Then I bought the RE Goggles which required I bite the bullet and upgrade. Then after upgrading I stumbled upon the RAW file colour cast issue which is critical to me. So now I regret my actions and want to know the best version to downgrade to. I don't care about the goggles working or not. I need a stable flying aircraft and high quality raw files.

I would go back to the previous firmware the newer one is just bad all round.

Downgraded and test flight / raw pic all good on V 01.04.0602

I came home with over 200 raw files.

I cant inderstand WHY everybody know that there are problem with last firmware DJI not stop it... Yes can downgrade, but i wanna firm before 1 version i can downgrade where o have not problems, can fly more than 20 meters away from me, and yes you look right - i can fly! Not like now...

I've stuck with the firmware and app version from June last year when I got the bird...I'd love the pano feature but I'm not interested with the crap I will have to deal with along with it.

Susan, I want to downgrade my P4P+ Obsidian to AC V 01.03.0509 because all the following firmware versions have a lot of problems which are documented here in this forum, and I do not want to use any of them.

What's DJI suggestion to satisfy my request ?

The stock firmware that came on your obsidian is stable and reliable, and not an official release. I forget what the version is but maybe Susan can chime in on that - bottom line I would stick with your current stock firmware until there's a SAFE version to upgrade to. The only difference between obsidian release fw and 0509 would not be worth mentioning because I bet you already know

That's correct about the firmware. Mine had that unofficial version when I received it a week ago. I waited a couple of days then upgraded. There are 2 dilemas here. One is the DJI policy of accepting returns within 14 days. So if we wait longer to upgrade until there are no obvious big issues, then the FW upgrade bricks the P4. We report it on the forum and DJI advise to send back. We lose out on the 14 day easy replacement route & we're in the endless returns process. The second dilema is that if we decide to stay with the factory FW we get constant on screen messages (Not such a problem) but possibly lose out on the additions or improvements that the FW upgrades bring. Some of which are not listed in the release notes.

Hi, as a new user of the Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian  , I follow this forum with great attention.

14 days ago I bought my first DJI drone. After the update of my 2 batteries I did a test flight.
Photo and video tested and all other functions of the drone. For me everything seemed to work correctly and everything works stably. I have checked the firmware version and have exactly the same as yours V 01.04.0703.
But I do not find information about this firmware version and release notes.
I read a lot of positive messages about version V 01.04.0602 that is very stable with the P4P.
With the DJI assistant 2 I can downgrade to version V 01.04.0602, what shall I do, or stay with the V01.04.0703?

If you have everything fine, bird fly ok, pictures and video are ok, stay with all stock releases or you will have a lot of issues and problems like I have after upgrade / downgrade.

If everything is okay, I will stay for a while with firmware V 01.04.0703 until the next update works for 100%

It was the version it came with from DJI they prob just give in house fw thats the latest at the time as they manufacture them thats not available for general release, 1.04.0703 was perfect it just didnt have the pano feature thats all the 1.05 vers gives put didnt want to try the 05.300 version and waited for the 05.600 -

Yes RSS that's the stock obsidian fw as far as I know, I'm on the latest that was available last wednesday night (7th) but my controller update failed and I had to send to DJI so no idea if the version I'm on now will have issues but my first flight on the 0703 was awesome. No issues. I checked my Dad's and his is on really old release 0509 fw due to crappy internet where he lives, but zero issues with that old firmware, flies all the time. Go figure

No i did not, but from the thread i link to it seem that some of the Obsidians got an upgrade from .0602 to .0703 that we with the white ones never had access to.
From my experiments AC v.1.03.0509 was the most stable but i would be unsure what happen if that was flashed to an Obsidian as there seem to be some secret differences among them.

There is several versions not mentioned anywhere, both for our AC's and for the RC's, the + RC at least, have not followed the regular RC.

RSS, V01.04.0703 is the default version number when the Obsidian left the factory for later batches. Could you be specific of your main issue in 0602? The latest version is V 01.05.0600, see whether you can upgrade via DJI Assistant 2.

Thank you for your reply.

I have updated to 0300, then because issues I downgrade to 0602.
The factory settings were always loaded before and after upgrade / downgrade.

I have problems with 2.4G connectivity, with loss of the video link, with freezing of the video link, sometimes the DJI GO 4 gets frozen, the gimbal sometimes goes up / down alone, there are also problems with the sharpness of the photos and a lot of alerts about strong interferences, stong wind, fly with caution.

I know that DJI release 0600 but a lot of people are complain about wobble that crack arms and about gimbal issues, so I don't want to upgrade.

Everything was great with the stock version, there was not a single problem.

With Assistant 2 it's not possible to install 0703 because that release does not appear.

I just do photography, I don't need any new functions like panos, I only want my drone working 100% fine like it was before I have upgrade.

Because pilots are having so many problems with the new firmware why not make V01.04.0703 available to everyone? As a manufacturer, you want to have satisfied customers, not?
Like me, I just want a stable drone to fly. Pano mode is a nice addition but not necessary. I think people prefer a stable drone over extra functions. just my 2 cents ...

I fly 01.04.0602 and this is (for me) stable firmware. Issue, when after upgrading I must re-bind RC, this is minor bug. Newest firmwares are not good and I think, that DJI goes to hell.
