It is a fantastic mini drone and ticks many boxes but it’s not an upgrade or even parallel model to the Mavic Pro.

It appears that It would have been better to wait and buy it from Amazon.. It's ready for shipping on Amazon and my order has not been shipped yet..

mine only took a minute or so for each firmware update. it had to go through about 3 before i got in the air.

Mavic Air arrived this morning but due to a full workload i didn't make it out till just before sunset. Made it through one and a half batteries before it got too dark for my comfort. Got some mediocre footage and did some crappy editing. Enjoy

Unfortunately, the red is not widely available yet, at least in USA.  I wanted to pre-order from Best Buy online, but they only have the white and black versions - I like the idea of replaceable covers.

How about skins that a user can apply? like high visibility orange, or other fluorescent colors?  Does anybody know of any available for purchase, for this drone?

I noticed the Danish shop likewise had only Black and White, no Red ones so i think they got the idea of the Red one later when the others was already in production.

Still it would be nice with a replaceable cover, even in several colors, raw or just plastic primed for a "aint it yourself" job.

Just one note about "paint it yourself":  
I believe the GPS antennae are under that cover, if that's the case, you'd want to make sure that your paint has no metal in it, because that would block a GPS signal.
One way to test that is to spray the paint on a piece of paper, and note the change in received signal strength, when you cover the top of the drone with that paper.

Did you notice that the Spark image was taken at a different time of the day? (ie check out her shadow)

Unfourtentaly does not make a difference in this particular case,

The mavic/phantom shoots were taken at the same time, and show pink hue on the woman's face, like the spark,
but the AIR "yellow vintage filter" image is unnatural, and worse is the crushed black's (but at least you can lower the contrast)
Still, i'd rather have sparks image profile anyday over the cinelike-D of mavic air

With the Air you can work on raw photos. You can't do that with the spark (or with the Pro either if i'm not wrong).

Any news about shipping for red units? Mine hasn’t shipped yet.. payed on 23rd of January. Honestly I don’t like this policy. Usually a shop take your money when they ship your order..

Compared to my Spark and Pro Platium, my Air just doesn't seem to fly as fluild. Fly's okay but, just seems a bit more refinement is needed in overall flight smoothness.

Why do you say that? I guess the flight time is quite a bit shorter, though... But it still seems quite good
