So Far So Good!!  Update took about 10 minutes.  I was hoping to get the Pano option but guess no such luck.  This is what the release notes show after update.

This software is not working with latest Go 4 app

New FW V02.00.0700 installed! Works without problems with DJI Go 4 and took about 10 minutes. Test flight is still made today!

Is there any difference between the official (700) and the (700 beta)?
it would be interesting to know

Confirm that there isn't any difference, just changed status from beta to official

And yet another software mess?

After getting into Assistant 2, I select the new update firmware and then immediately get a red circle with the red line through it (Nothing else in Assistant 2 is selectable other than to close it down.) and the following message:

" Please reconnect the usb cable if the Assistant cannot reach the drone for 5 minutes after drone rebooting. "

Fwiw, Assistant 2 Version 1.2.0  and latest Windows 10-64x installed.

New USB cable from Olympus camera installed instead of white DJI supplied ones now got me to 100%.

However, after the download completed, a yellow "Update Failed.  Upload Error Log." message occured at the end of the download.  Only option is to Upload Error Log which says I need a new update from "Windows Store."  Nothing found other than a gray screen pop-up saying "Javascript Error."  What's up with that?  First attempt with this new Assistant 2 ver. 1.2.0 too.

"Retry Download?"  I select "Yes" and it's downloading again.

..... And then same problem repeats itself all over again.

DJI Assistant says unable to determine firmware. Has worked in the past. What now?

Hi. I tried to upgrade my phantom with dji assistant 2 but it didn't give me the option to do it. No update files were there. Then I followed the dji go procedure, through my tablet, and the upgrade began normally . At the end with 99 % finished ,after 45 minutes of wait, I had to turn off both RC and the  Phantom as well. When I restarted the dji go and the drone, the app asked me to upgrade the RC as well. I upgraded the RC and now everything seems working fine. Of course I haven't tried the drone yet but it seems ok. Even now, the dji assistant 2 program doesn't recognize any firmware at all.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will stay with .600 for a few days and watch the forum. DJI Assistant has been flawless in the past and is my preferred method for updating firmware.

Good question.

Old Assistant 2 used to work fine for me too (Version 1.1.6 or 1.1.8 ??).  Somewhere along with their later versions, Windows 10 started popping up "Trojan" messages.

This seems to be an Assistant 2 error with Windows 10 now and Javascript.   I just updated Windows 10 since it is MS's "Update Tuesday."  Will try again later, but somehow something ain't right ... like this is anything new.

Im using a Mac / Apple computer. How do you determine what version of Assistant 2 you are using?

Never mind. I found version. I am running 1.2.2 which I believe is the latest for the Mac version.

When was that released, I changed from V1 .18 to .V1 .20 only a couple of weeks ago.

HaHa! I think a lot of us are thinking the same way. I'm on the Beta version .600 and it has been working fine for me.

I stand corrected. I am running version 1.1.2-2 which looks like it may not be the latest.

Okay since the needs of the many bla bla bla, and I like you guys and gals, I upgraded the firmware. First tried on Assistant on the Windows 10, 64 bit PC. Assistant didn’t see the firmware at all, but it worked the other day. After that I tried through the new Go4 app and all went very smoothly. Received one error at 95 percent of the firmware download that said DJI doesn’t support this device, or something like that, I just hit okay and it finished the downloaded, rebooted the aircraft and hooked up fine to RC. Pretty painless. Now let’s fly it.

Whilst we are all having a bit of fun with this it doesn't bode well for DJIs customer relations going forwards. We can only hope that this rolls out without problems and sanity if not credibility is restored. I will wait a little before upgrading though.

Scalded cat fears cold water - as we say at home, so it is urgent to wait, and then there is so much dust on the case of my drone ...

Well, I didn't see the first error, but like you I'm now repeatedly seeing the second - "Update failed: Upload error log". Strange thing is that I updated the P4 fine on first try, reset to factory default, then tried to refresh. Got that error, and for the next 5 times!!
That was last night and tried again this morning - same result. I was originally running Win10 Assistant 2 v1.1.8, then after 3rd try installed Assistant 2 V1.20. No difference. Very frustrating, but will see if it flies OK as is.

Edit: the Assistant 2 log reports a "file error 224" following the transmission failure, whatever that is...

Well...it flew fantastic! Very nice and I have some serious windy conditions today here in the desert and still  smooth through all aspects of my flight, I’m very impressed.  I believe you will be too. Good day for Phantom 4 Owner’s.
