Can someone please help me figure this out...I shot a video today with my Mavic in 16.9, the video plays on my laptop in 16.9, but on the TV, plays in 4:3. A video I took a couple days ago, plays on both the laptop and tv in 16.9. I haven't changed anything camera wise on the Mavic...My Aquos tv picture is set on dot by dot, so the video from today should be playing on the tv in 16.9. I'm baffled...

Was it a .mp4 or .mov my brother in law's TV would play an MP4 in 16:9 format and would change to 4:3 when he played a MOV file through the USB input even though the TV picture format was set to 16:9.

Not sure if it will work for you.

Is the file saved as MP4?
What app on the TV plays the video?
Is the video 4K or 1080p (is the TV 4K?)

It's saving as a .mov, I've been playing them thru the home network on my tv, haven't tried plugging the memory card directly into the tv. Video is in 4K, tv is 1080p...

Your TV is Sharp, but does it run Android TV? (I'm asking because different TVs use different apps and methods of playing the video)

(and this probably won't fix the issue, but it's better to use .mp4 in future)

I'm honestly not sure if it runs android. I trimmed the movie, saved it as an mp4, but it still won't play thru the network, or chromecast. Does the micro sd for the Mavic save in mp4?

For future videos, in the JI GO 4 app, check the movie settings... there is an option in there for MP4 or MOV files (along with filter, frame rate, etc)
As for playing through Chromecast, if the movie loads okay on an Android phone, there should be an option to 'Cast' it a supported TV.

Thanks for the advice. I checked the settings, it was set to mov, changed it to mp4. Will test it tomorrow, weather permitting.

No change, still showing on tv @4:3, on the laptop @16:9. No big deal, just bizarre that day before yesterday, it was showing @16:9 on the tv. I suppose if I plug an HDMI cord from the tv to the laptop, it'd probably show @16:9. I've double checked everything, video is set to MP4, and 4K 3840×2160@30. Anyway, I am having an absolute ball, but it's really hard to trust letting this thing get out of sight. I've flown fixed wing for several years, and you have to keep the plane in sight at all times, period, no exceptions. So for the time being, I'll keep it close, and stray further out as I become more comfortable.
